    Great interview Jim. As a Quins and England fan I will always love Mike Brown. The title winning run last year was unbelievable but a big part of me cringed at the way it ended for our most loyal Quins servant. We did him dirty there. Man deserved to leave on his terms after what he gave to the shirt. Hurt a bit watching him lifting that trophy, and seeing that he didn't quite felt he owned it. A Quins legend and between 2014-16ish he was one of, if not, the best 15 in the world.

    Mike has single-handedly pointed out why England are under performing, man management! As he says, Eddie has his core favourites and anyone outside of that isn't nurtured. Therefore when he is forced to make changes the results drop. Sad to hear how Brown was treated at the end of his England career. He's loyal but wears his heart on his sleeve which has been the making and undoing of his rugby career. Either way a great player and no doubt lots more to come from him.

    As a staunch England fan Jim, it burns inside (not Robert) to say that these pieces are a class act. Your questioning is pertinent, you give the interviewee time to respond and you’re not afraid to pick for detail. I used to hate you playing against the English, I’m sure you grew another few inches. He's very frank, especially about his current club Newcastle. Really doesn't sound likes he rates them or the setup. Talking about moving to a club with more ambition is pretty risky if it doesn't come off. Can't imagine his coaches or teammates would want him around next season after this interview.

    • @MrHenryphil
      @MrHenryphil 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's because Newcastle have already released him. I think probably annoyed he didn't get another year there, especially having moved his family there. That being said, I am sure team mates and club could still be a bit annoyed as he is still there. But if you've been let go I think you also have reason to be annoyed!

      To be fair they don't have the £££. Being local to the club, the guy who owns the club practically got it given to him when northern rock went bust and they needed a new sugar daddy. Plus, they don't get out to the community very often, they can't engage with the locals if they don't get out to see them

      Disagree. As a player Mike could have made alot more money if he moved around whilst in his prime, clearly showed loyalty to the club.
      You have to remember Rugby players have short careers and in alot of cases have health issues for the rest of their lives.
      Mike had been at the club from a kid up to his twilight years. He should of been able to retire on his terms the cost of which counterbalanced against the money they saved from him not leaving or demanding more in his prime.
