What isn't clear in this video is that RM bandsmen and women (and in all British military bands) are not just talented musicians but, when the need arises, they are deployed on operations in a variety of support roles. So they really are an awesome bunch of people. 👍
I thought they are just band members they don’t actually go through commando training because lymphston dosent accept females to be in the marines
@@averagelad966 The do the basic phase 1 military recruit training that all Royal Marines do but they don't go on to Commando training to get the green beret. So they are able to operate in operational environments as support troops - medical assistants, drivers, communications and, no doubt, while they are doing those tasks they will also do a bit of morale raising with their music.
As a retired U.S. Army National Guard bandsman and NCO I really appreciate the level and quality of leadership displayed by the cadre.
Having watched this I am very confident that our UK military bands will continue to be world class. (ex Raf Central Band).

I’m 14 and have played in my local band for about 6 months and I am interested in joining the HM marine band but I’m not sure how. I want to play music with the royal marines as a career. Can anybody show me how to sign up to be in the band (obviously when I am of age)

What ever happened to Anna? No Im not some stalking creep :-). im just intrigued that a German lass would be elligible (I live in Germany now being ex Royal Engineer).
