As you said, a lot of unattractive guys love to just show you how "better" they are and want to make you look weak next to them, which is really pathetic.
If you are really, REALLY attractive, you're going to walk into a room probably being the best-looking person in there, especially if you're on the taller side and have a good body (I'm 6"2), even better looking than the girls, and you will be looked at with a hint of resentment and passive-aggressiveness from both genders, that's just how it is.
edit: I cannot agree more on how you mention that straight guys will look at you the most. I get stared at very often, but a lot of times those looks are from guys who look like they hate me, it's sick.
