Do you think that the ShapingPixel questions were similar to the real ones? i keep scoring around 52/65p on his videos, have done like 660 questions now.
Failed the exam today, fully blame myself for this. I got 62 our of the 65 questions correct in this practice test, so I was confident that I could pass the exam. I was wrong.
Thanks for the heads up. Try taking more than one practice exam for any cert going further. These topics are pretty broad, and certain topics can be covered more extensively depending on that *instance*(can't think of a better term) of that exam. So maybe you do good on 2 practice exams but bad on one practice exam. It's happened to me. Focus on the one you did bad on and go from there 💪💪💪don't be discouraged. You got this

@@Cutiefoodies A bit easier than I expected them to be. There really weren't that many questions that were overly long and I was able to submit the exam with 35 minutes left to spare, even after going through and reviewing again. You can do it!

I really think the answer to question @47:03 is the 4th option. What gives you fault tolerance is a Load Balancer and many instances running in parallel. Auto scalling gives you the ability to only run what is needed at the moment, reducing costs.
Good point, it certainly can help you with both fault tolerance and cost optimization. When considering auto scaling *in isolation* though, it doesn't directly contribute to cost savings, this is more determined on the instances being launched/terminated by auto scaling. For example if I have an auto-scaling group with t3.small instances, and another with t3a.xlarge instances, the xlarge group will generally contribute to higher costs regardless of what auto scaling does. You'll also notice in the doc linked below that AWS refers to better fault tolerance as the first benefit of auto scaling: docs.aws.amazon.com/autoscaling/ec2/userguide/auto-scaling-benefits.html Sounds nitpicky but that is how some of the questions on the test are :)
Great video/review session. At 1:03:00 I get tripped up by Cloud Domain types (IaaS, PaaS, Saas) as well. I went back and looked at a infographic of the 3 Cloud Domain types and to me it looks like PaaS is the same as SaaS (Except with PaaS the customer is responsible for maintaining the Applications/Application code). SaaS is where customer pays a Subscription to an Application that runs in the Cloud (SaleForce CRM, Office 365, etc.), and the SaaS Cloud Customer is Not responsible for maintaining the Application (or anything else such as providing the Server or Database the application is connecting to).
Indeed those 2 can get confusing. I like to remember it as SaaS is a provider giving you only an application (software) to run over the internet, and PaaS gives you the underlying hardware (platform) to build then distribute your applications on.
Hi, I have my CLF-C01 examin less than 24 hours from now. I have seen your videos and able to answer most questions with ease, however I am facing some confusion regarding the similar sounding services like snowball and snowmobile along with the hundreds of services with AWS. Any tips to keep them in mind?
Unfortunately a lot of this particular exam does come down to memorizing what the services do. However I try to associate them with some sort of graphic or analogy. For your example I think of the snow family in order of smallest to largest (snowcone is smaller than a snowball, a snowball is smaller than a snowmobile). Each one increases in size, capabilities, etc. Good luck!
