Nothing like showing up to a laundry mat half the stuff is broke lol.
Once you get all or most of the machines up and running sales should be going up. Good on the car wash sales.
Might be worth it to make some updates on your Google business listing for the car wash portion. Add some pictures and hours.
Unbelievable how often those machines break down! Too bad you can't get someone that is or will work for you to fix these machines! Wonderful news on the car wash!
Newer machines will be better. These machines are at least 20 years old.
In my hometown we had 3 laundromats, all next to a carwash. I don't know why it's not like that everywhere.
Interesting!
If you closed the laundromat, removed the machines and rented the space out...how much would that rent for?
Everything on that property is so much nicer since you took it over. It's a plus for the community, too. I think they are happy the car wash is back in operation. Did the shop get cleared out yet? That would be good additional rental income. A laundromat, an apartment, a shop, and a car wash all on one property is really nice as an investment. You did good! BTW I like your voice overs. I wonder why the fluctuations in the laundry. It's a weird cycle of ups & downs.
Yes ut is cleared out!
The car wash vacuum nozzle was missing.
Shame you are not closer. I would sign on to be your laundromat repair person. Congrats on one bay car wash. You have been watching this lack of skills and disinterest for a long time as a business owner. All the best.
Thank you
Do you bring your kids along and make them clean and help? I grew up helping my parents with their business and I think it taught me a lot about entrepreneurship, saving and etc. I plan on doing this with my kids the older they get as well
i would put an add on next door and see if you can find someone to fix the lanudry machines. you should include the rent from the apartment I would think thats part of the income.
Is there a technical college nearby? I’m sure there are some electrical/mechanical students willing to learn. Maybe instructor could use as part of workshop. Just a thought.
Does the local high school or college have a shop/trades training program? If so,see if they want to expand and cover your kind of machinery and offer your business to be a working classroom. You could also offer it as a night school classroom in general.People could hold small classes while doing laundry and you could make extra rent money too.
Im glad u kept the car wash
5:18 So all the car wash money came from the car wash with the out of order sign? That's weird.
I assume the tray handles both of the machines on each side of the wall with the single tray that happens to open on that side of the wall.
exactly, that tray is for both the working and non working bay
Sponsor a student through the local Regional Occupational Program to learn Appliance repair with an offer for a starter job once they finish the training
I didn't even know ROP was still around
Woo hoo! It's uphill from here!
Must be awkward tho to live next to a carwash bay. 🤔
Crazy setup from this view. 🤷🏾♀️
How much do you need to get in quarters to get back to even to get it going again?
No young guy willing to learn the repair of these machines, so he has a skill to add to whatever his life plans are? Sad.
You need to be able to buy broken ones to practice on. They're not exactly cheap.
It's sad that an entire country, the US, especially the old, just don't get it. I warned you all that a certain government policy started 4 years ago would raise rents at least 30% and would induce landlords to demand provable income levels for the better properties that would put even renting their own place out of reach for most of the young and those with lower income. You will never again be able to fill so many jobs with good people, ever, because, please get this -- they can't afford to rent close enough to make working at your place worth it. It's just not worth it to drive over an hour to work at your crummy job, especially with even used car prices and repairs having gone through the roof in cost. It just isn't. And it never will be again.
First time here. I'm going to have to agree. That is a small business, you can't really afford to hire 1 kid and make a profit. Let alone someone with some skill to fix those machines. Looks like a small town? Hiring outside person to fix the machines is expensive. If I owned the place, I'd be fixing it all myself. I'm not an expert at laundromat machines, but I'd learn. I'm the maintenance manager for a food factory so I pretty much do most everything. This stuff I'd get bored pretty quickly. Would have to have more going on than this one business for sure. I don't know where this is located?
I don't think renting this building out would make any more money. So many businesses have closed. Mainly from getting robbed. Not much to rob from a laundromat and car wash. It is a pretty small business. Just large enough for an owner to handle and that is about it. Slim to no chance of finding some local person to work part-time and knows how to fix the machines. That would just cut into any profit.
I don't know if that is the only car wash in town? But it seems to be doing ok in making money, even when only half of it is working. Then again, small down, how often is it backed up because only 1 is working? Do people just leave instead of waiting around? Should get rid of people just parking in a stall as that is a bad habit. Doesn't matter that it is not working.
Cut your losses and sell this tiny Laundromat, it's not worth waiting to see if it will make more money someday, cut your losses and sell this place now and concentrate on the bigger Laundromat.
Hillbilly sideways outfit I’d drive 5 miles out of the way to avoid a ripoff car wash not knowing if I’m just going to pump money into a machine and get nothing. After the water bill you will probably have to pay out of pocket to own that stupid car wash smfh
