Thank you for watching this video of the MIRA Safety ParticleMax P3 Virus Filter! It was a lot of fun to review and I hope that you enjoyed watching the review video. Here's a link to the virus filter: bit.ly/2VvayeV . I hope that everyone is staying safe during these crazy times and has enough preps to weather the storm. I also hope that you will never have to use these filters, although it gives me comfort knowing that I have them on hand, just in case. I would like to point out that filters are actually more efficient the smaller the particle is. I know this doesn't make any sense to most people, but all filters are tested out with 0.3-micron particles because those are the most penetrative. How's this even possible? Particle physics. 0.3 microns is the limit between normal particle movement and Brownian particle movement. So, in practice, 0.3 microns is actually the smallest possible particle size, and anything under 0.3 microns is in practice, bigger than 0.3 microns. Wow, slow down Biologist. How can something smaller be bigger? Are particles using Timelord technology? Back to Brownian movement: Particles smaller than 0.3 microns are so ridiculously tiny that they bounce off of molecules and atoms, pinballing around instead of pushing molecules away, which, in practice, make those very tiny particles behave like a larger one. On top of all that, atomic and ionic interactions, gravity and many other forces that barely affect bigger stuff, have a lot of influence on those tiny particles, making it even harder from them to pass through a filter. So yeah, smaller viruses have a harder time going through filters than bigger ones.

This may be a dumb question but what kind of filtration does one need to smoke? I’m not looking to rush any burning buildings but during 2020 we had forest fires really close to our home.
Normal P3 filters protect you from viruses. These Mira "virus" filters are just a tactic for Mira to sell overpriced P3 particle filters. You can get similar P3 filters for less than $10 per filter, from Scott for example.
Thank you for cutting them open and showing us what's inside, their are very few if any coverage of what's inside those filters....ive even gotten questions from people asking if it holds oxygen or even makes it lol
Thank you very much you were very informative towards the filter I wonder if you own the company but if you do doesn’t matter I’m going to order some right now because I ordered three for facemask and I was about to buy some more filters for them but I won’t I’m going to buy the filters that you demonstrated excellent demonstration videos like your little helper had fun doing it take care.
A mask is all well and good, but it's important for everyone to know that it alone will do nothing for you if someone coughs on or near you, and you touch it later without disinfecting or throwing out your clothes. Realistically, most people aren't going to have a suit that provides a full seal over the mask, let alone the mask itself. And in the event that they do, most of those people won't properly disinfect or disinfect at all.
@Hated I don't know that you can do it, but I do know that some company has a method that's been approved, which allows masks to be sanitized and reused up to 20 times.
@Hated for reusable respirators what I do is removing the filters and cleaning the exterior with wiping alcohol, then wash the entire mask except filters with water and soap, let it dry. If what you have is a disposable n95 your best bet is probably germicidal UVC light or leaving it in the sun for several hours + rotating masks
Great video. One question though.. how would i know when the filter needs to be changed? How do you calculate a full day of usage especially when you are not constantly in an infected area?
Particle filters dont "expire" atleast not like gas filters, they have activated carbon in them that binds to the chemicals coming trough. Particle never stop working they just clog and become hard to breath trough. If youre not in a really dusty are all the time they last for months with daily use
I am not particularly afraid for my self but if I get infected I firstly will infect others till I am symptomatic (if I develop them at all) and secondly will have to go home till I heal myself and there is only a small number of us with the skill-set for mechanical ventilation of intubated patients.. that won't be too long before we all get sick
Hi. Any idea what the difference is between P3RD filters compared to P3 in relation to protection against viruses. I’m looking at the JSP Force 8 half mask respirator where the reference to P3RD on the filters leaves me unclear as to whether the level of protection from COVID is less than ordinary P3 filters. Best, John
Just turn on a bright flashlight in your house and see particles floating in the air and imagine a virus attaching to one as well as a hvac, system moving them around . I can't imagine what the navy is doing on submarines on 90 day patrols. They must be isolating crews before the patrol begins.
Good vid. I was wondering why the so called shelf life differs between models of filters. " filters" can have the same rating, but differ alot in shelf life. How is that ? Is it because of insurance wise thingies ?
One Question i would like to know before i buy a Gas Mask..Do You Need To alway have Two Filter Attach Or Could you Wear it For protection With Only One Filter Attach,Thanks.
EL OFICIAL FREDDY If it's a gas mask with two filter ports, you'll either need 2 filters, or a filter and a blanking plug to achieve a good seal and keep air from leaking in.
@@junglejim9551 ok..got it thanks, But my point is if it has two filter Ports is Not Necessary to use the Two Ports with a filter on each Ports i could use like you said One filter on one port and Block the other with a plug...then Why Have Two filter is two Filters better than one filter,Should i then just buy a mask with One port or is it better to have two ports noone explain that.

Quick question. In need of help and guidance. I have an M50 gas mask, and I’m looking to purchase both Particle and also NBC filters. Which ones are compatible? And where is the best place to get them? Do you have an affiliate link? Thanks!
Delta Firearms LLC All modern NBC filters have a built in, top of the line P100 filter. M50's are great quality masks and the regular filters should work great for staying healthy during this outbreak. As for compatibility, M50's use proprietary filters that don't work with any other masks, one of their major flaws.
TehGureedo Knowing particle filters, most likely not that well, you'd probably want to take it off before decon, as if it gets wet you're pretty much fucked

Very detail review, thank you ! Do you have a recommendation about how to clean the filter, since its okay if we put water on it, can we clean it with a little soap and water? And while doing so do you think its better to clean the filter+gas mask intact? or its better to take off the filter and clean it separately, Thank you.
No means am I an expert but if it were me I do recommend disinfecting your mask before removing it leaving the filter ON until you are confident that the surrounding portion of the mask is clean along with the filter&mask itself so now you have done everything to clean up, hands, face, and yes even clothing is the safest way to proceed with doffing your equipment. There are disinfectant sprays to reduce exposure as you remove you clothes however I still wouldn’t trust wearing clothes after they’ve been exposed until they’ve been washed on at least a warm setting. Nuisance right? Ponchos work.
Hello let me just start by saying, YES my family is worth it! But if I don't have "it"? So my question then is if your budget is not as high do you have any more budget friendly recommendations? I would like to get 3 sets to protect my wife, son, and myself.
When using p3’s, can you use just one filter? Do you need to use 2 at a time? I plan on rotating my 6 pack per 10 day virus life. Thank you for your great testing! It was great!
When do you have to change the Particle max P3 virus filter when you are potentialy exposed in the street for example ? Do you have to change it each time you go out and come back home ? Reusable ? how many times ?
I love this filter. I'm placing a new order today too. I say it's reusable because if you put the used filter in a cool dry place for 14 days, the viruses inside of it will have died by then BECAUSE VIRUSES BY NATURE NEED A HOST AND WATER TO SURVIVE. So a virus sitting in a filter will die, all you have to do is wait. It's a waiting game. Viruses needs a host (human cells) and water to reproduce and just survive. Deprive it of those two things for enough days and the filter should be sterile again. So each filter I use, gets it's own quarantine for 14 days in a cool dry sterile place. That's what I do for myself to save money.
The filter is reusable until it gets clogged on the intake side. You can reuse the filter regardless of whether there’s live or dead viruses inside it, because they simply can’t get through the filter itself. And thankfully, the intake hole is small enough that you shouldn’t be putting your fingers in there to begin with. All you really need to do is wipe down the exterior of the mask after each use. I would change out the filters on a monthly basis. Don’t cut open those filters, because any live viruses that are trapped could then become dislodged and end up back in the air.
All i can say dude, I am experiencing this right now, in my city there is no way to get face mask, I have a respirator and that's my only option, I feel so uncomfortable when I went to shopping, so i decided to go out (with mask on, mandatory) at morning when the store just open
If it’s just for viruses probably indefinitely, but for dust and other things. Switch with it gets way harder to breathe. Also skip these filters and but Scott filters. Scott filters are actually used by multiple militaries around the world and are WAY cheaper that the Mira safety junk
PLS IF YOU COULD ANSWER ME IM 18 WEEKS PREGNANT AND WILL BE GOING TO THE DR WED. AND IM SO SCARED OF CATCHING IT THERE!! My filter doesn't say virus filter in it and only has EN140 EN 143 and EN 136 it is a P-A-1 (original) 3# filter. Is this one good enough to keep viruses out???
You don't need to. It does make it easier to breath though. I just like filming it that way for these videos because I have minor OCD and feel that it makes the mask symmetrical for me.
The algorithm knows what you are talking about... I see this below your video: "Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Get the latest information from the National Health Service about coronavirus."
Wearing glasses renders the respirator useless - the arms break the airtight seal. A lot of masks have parts inside so you can clip on prescription visors inside.
They make glasses to fit under full face snorkeling mask, I am sure they would fit under that mask and a few other styles of gas masks, the arms on the glasses are short and wide, looks like they may clamp to the temples with spring pressure, I just found out about them last night looking for a solution. I thought about it when I saw a company converting full face snorkeling mask stock to take filters because of the virus. I found it searching Rx full face snorkeling mask.
@@LisaTao short answer is that they there is only so much room for say a virus/particle. Once that space it all used up it will become very difficult to breath through that filter. Virii like to take rides on larger particle it seems that those are what get trapped by the hepa layer. As a the particle with the virus attached is trapped in that layer. The saving grace i think it that is there is nothing to trap a filter could last a very long time, so I was curious when he said "R" denoted reusable. So I'm a greatly disappointed that he didn't bother to respond to the question, since he was the one saying the "R" stood for reusable.
i bought 2 scott P3R filters last week for €10 a piece so spending double for the mira is just nuts knowing its the exact same filter and classification
@@TheUrbanPrepper I bought mine on a Dutch industrial website called Lasaulec in case the URL doesn't show. They charged €5,72 per filter. I ordered two plus shipping for €15 total. Tip, know what you're searching and buying. Try different search hit names like only P3R since prices are sky-high at the moment. This year i've had to deal with volcanic ash fall and viral pandemic. Normally we have dangerous levels of diesel particulates as well. This should do nicely. I don't expect mustard gas at all.
The CBRN filter will be overkill, but it will definitely work. It will be reusable after a decontamination shower because it has the same ULPA filter as the first stage filtration, which water doesn't get through. I would save it if you can and pick up a few of these cheaper options, if you can.
Hank Hankenhunter They sell them in bulk, but even then MIRA safety is a complete ripoff. They just slap their logo on other masks and filters and sell them for ten times the price. The only thing that's even mildly good are their "haz-suits" because they are designed to fit a wide variety of people and be chemically resistant, but even then they're way overpriced for what they are.
Because you have to buy them in a 6-pack. They are $25 individually, but they don't sell them that way currently. Using a particle filter alone is far longer lasting than an NBC filter that also has activated charcoal that gets clogged up from too much environment exposure.
11:39 - Is that a melodic remix of Ice Cube - It Was A Good Day? lol Great video. I'm still waiting for my P3's to come in to replace my 3M respirator. Kid prepper probably had a lot of fun doing that to you eh? haha
If you are not going to be running a lot or hiking I would put a cap on one side of the mask really no need to use 2 filters especially being so expensive.

Yes, finally someone that knows stuff
Thank you for cutting them open and showing us what's inside, their are very few if any coverage of what's inside those filters....ive even gotten questions from people asking if it holds oxygen or even makes it lol
Thank God we can buy these P3 filters for 9 Euro a piece in Europe.
Oh - the brand is AVEC that is rebranded to MIRA.
How long can you use a filter before changing it?
Thank you very much you were very informative towards the filter I wonder if you own the company but if you do doesn’t matter I’m going to order some right now because I ordered three for facemask and I was about to buy some more filters for them but I won’t I’m going to buy the filters that you demonstrated excellent demonstration videos like your little helper had fun doing it take care.
I dont think I've ever since someone who deserves a like 👍 , more than this guy. especially with hom puting himself in all those scenarios
Thank you so much! I try to do the testing so you don't have to. :)
@DrScopeify Not a bad idea if it has a drawstring hood that tightens around the head.
Best,
John

You are very welcome!
If i'm using the P3 filter for urban exploration, would I still need to dispose of it after each explore? Like abandoned buildings, etc
Just turn on a bright flashlight in your house and see particles floating in the air and imagine a virus attaching to one as well as a hvac, system moving them around . I can't imagine what the navy is doing on submarines on 90 day patrols. They must be isolating crews before the patrol begins.
Do these things actually expire unopened?...seems like a hepa filter not sure it reacts with anything just in a vacuum? 🤔
Hi 👋 there Cliff I like your utube Channels it's up lifting to me.👍
Keep up your support and advice, I like it.
@@junglejim9551 ok..got it thanks, But my point is if it has two filter Ports is Not Necessary to use the Two Ports with a filter on each Ports
i could use like you said One filter on one port and Block the other with a plug...then Why Have Two filter is two Filters better than one filter,Should i then just buy a mask with One port or is it better to have two ports noone explain that.
@@eloficialfreddy7524 only thing 2 filters gains is a bit easier breathing. One is just fine and much more cost effective.
how long do those filters last before you have to switch them out if you’re wearing them for Covid or something like

Haven't seen any of you uploads in quite some time. Hope you and your family are doing OK.
What else are these good for filtering other than covid and flour?
Always like watching you product tests!
Thanks Diane! I always have fun making them in my own, unique way.
This is an excellent video. The author goes through a lot and educates us along the way. MIRA products do appear to be top notch. There is always a concern (you just cant avoid it) when any presenter benefits financially from orders. That said, I do like this channel.
You were ahead of this event for sure. Stay safe and healthy my friend
Thanks a bunch. It feels good to have peace of mind that I had a little foresight for this type of event.
How does it hold up against an actual decontamination shower with disinfectant chemicals and all?
TehGureedo Knowing particle filters, most likely not that well, you'd probably want to take it off before decon, as if it gets wet you're pretty much fucked
Great informative video! Absolutely subscribing to your channel. I was on the fence about purchasing the Mira ParticleMax filters but decided to do so after seeing your demonstrations and explanations. You ought to get an affiliate code from them!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the video, Vic! I had a lot of fun filming this one. Thanks for subscribing!
From one smart shopper to another: These filters cost $25 bucks each DIRECTLY off the website.
But on eBay, you have phuckers charging $40 or $60 or even $100 PER filter.
So be careful not to get ripped off out there.
a Scott or diff brand P3 40mm particle filter that cost around 10 euro/ dollar does the same thing.
Nice! Do you have a link, Mike?
Came here to point it out. Have the Scott 2000 series P3 filters for shopping. Came around 10€ a piece.
Mihkel where ?
@@joaotino2252 well, how do I say it... They used to sell for 9,4€ a piece at local ppe shop. Tamrex.eu
Out of stock at the moment. I do dust works sometimes with my gas mask, so I bought a bunch in February. Added some gas filters with P3 element after the pandemia was called. 22€ a pop from stokker.ee Out of stock now. It's like they are selling out like hot cakes...
Mihkel btw I’ll ask u one thing.yesterday bought a face mask, not full face mask but the other model that covers a bit of the face, with double cartridges
And the filters are A1B1E1K1
Are they effective against the virus ?
Besides the basic cirúrgical mask that doesn’t help
Any recommendations for those of us with poor eyesight, as far as eyewear for inside the mask ?
Very nice video. I have a question. I know the filter mask is for gas. Is there any filters for M60 mask to use for COVID-19?
40 mm ghost filter
Do you have to use 2 of them or is 1 of them good enough? Also once you put one on how long is the life span once it’s used in the mask?
One filter is enough
Very good post. Where can i buy this set?
A most excellent video. Do you have limes to go with the Coronas?
Always! Thanks a bunch! I'm glad that you enjoyed watching it.
do you prefer the CM-6M or the SGE 400/3bb? thanks..
Very detail review, thank you !
Do you have a recommendation about how to clean the filter, since its okay if we put water on it, can we clean it with a little soap and water?
And while doing so do you think its better to clean the filter+gas mask intact? or its better to take off the filter and clean it separately,
Thank you.
4a1 Gas Mask. Size 3: children; size 2: teenager and adult; size 1: adult
When using p3’s, can you use just one filter? Do you need to use 2 at a time? I plan on rotating my 6 pack per 10 day virus life. Thank you for your great testing! It was great!
Im not 100% sure but I think it makes breathing easier is all.
Yes. You can use a single filter.
What scenario requires two filters vs just wearing one at a time.
two filters make breathing easier with a mask.
When do you have to change the Particle max P3 virus filter when you are potentialy exposed in the street for example ? Do you have to change it each time you go out and come back home ? Reusable ? how many times ?
How long do these last and can you reuse them after 1 use?
i want to buy one !!!! me gustaria comprar todos esas mascaras !!!
Great Comment ! I just leave my Med Filter Mask on the dash in the car and the dry heat should kill every nasty thing... tjl
Amazingly informative video
You answered all my questions
this should be on the mirawebsite ffs
Thanks!
Don't belive him
Can you make a video explaining and showing the donning and doffing with the mirror mask and particle filter virus filter
Does that mask her foggy? It looks like it does.
How many times can you reuse them or how many times can they be reused?

@@lrRIGO Same damn I should have prepared before, definetely gonna learn the lesson If I survive
How long do the filters last in use? Any exhaustion identification?
If it’s just for viruses probably indefinitely, but for dust and other things. Switch with it gets way harder to breathe. Also skip these filters and but Scott filters. Scott filters are actually used by multiple militaries around the world and are WAY cheaper that the Mira safety junk
Great videos Cliff!
I may have missed it but why do you need two filters for each mask? Can you cap one and just use one?
You don't need to. It does make it easier to breath though. I just like filming it that way for these videos because I have minor OCD and feel that it makes the mask symmetrical for me.
The algorithm knows what you are talking about... I see this below your video:
"Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)
Get the latest information from the National Health Service about coronavirus."
Yep! I knew that was going to happen due to the content of the video. They usually mark these type of my videos "not suitable for all advertisers".
What about your glasses!?! How are you able to see and keep a seal?
Wearing glasses renders the respirator useless - the arms break the airtight seal. A lot of masks have parts inside so you can clip on prescription visors inside.
Contact lenses are an option but they are a big risk - you shouldn't be wearing contact lenses if exposed to CBRN threats, you will destroy your eyes.
You didn't give price of larger canister?
Okay question. you talk about the "R" marker as reusable. So just how does that work if those filter clog. What do you do to make them reusable?
How can they clog if you only use them to filter viruses? There’s not enough dust in the air to clog them.
So I'm a greatly disappointed that he didn't bother to respond to the question, since he was the one saying the "R" stood for reusable.
if you have short beard you are supposed to use vaseline to allow a proper seal to work
So...a P3 filter is the same as a NIOSH P100
purchased almost 600$ CAD from Mira safety. package never arrived and they are unwilling to reimburse or reship. buyer beware.

i bought 2 scott P3R filters last week for €10 a piece so spending double for the mira is just nuts knowing its the exact same filter and classification
@@Diablo97810 Where did you find yours at?
@@TheUrbanPrepper I bought mine on a Dutch industrial website called Lasaulec in case the URL doesn't show. They charged €5,72 per filter. I ordered two plus shipping for €15 total.

I dont think Mira Safety is the actual manufacturer of CM-6M mask
Woah, in normal times that stuff costs 6-7 bucks a pop, not 25...
This year i've had to deal with volcanic ash fall and viral pandemic. Normally we have dangerous levels of diesel particulates as well. This should do nicely. I don't expect mustard gas at all.
Whats with you guys and the scally flat caps
Error in your micron diagram @ 3:42 you have "0.001 in" for the biggest black dot and also for the second smallest black dot
Your kid tried to get you by going for your nuts! LOL!!! Good review
What if I have the CBRN filter but not the particle filter? Should I still use it? Is it reusable after a decontamination shower?
The CBRN filter will be overkill, but it will definitely work. It will be reusable after a decontamination shower because it has the same ULPA filter as the first stage filtration, which water doesn't get through. I would save it if you can and pick up a few of these cheaper options, if you can.
Now yours for just $1500.00. This guy reminds me of Electrolux Vacuum salesman.
I'm just a tester and sharing my thoughts. I hope you liked watching the video.
Why does the virus filter cost $150? While its only P3. The nbc-77 filter costs $80 and has more in it?
Because you have to buy them in a 6-pack. They are $25 individually, but they don't sell them that way currently. Using a particle filter alone is far longer lasting than an NBC filter that also has activated charcoal that gets clogged up from too much environment exposure.
@@visabertoothiv5160 okay, thanks.
