So engrossing at a number of levels (pun). I envy the stamina. At timestamp [7:00] you happen to be standing very nearly at monitoring profile 122. It passes between you and the concrete slabs behind. A profile is a notional line from land to sea along which cliff loss down the coast is measured twice a year by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, using hi-tech. Pr122 was abandoned in 2022 because the data became meaningless With the aid of old maps, back-projection is possible. From 1854 to 2022, a period of 169 years, the cliff line is recorded as having receded 307.52 metres, or approximately a fifth of a mile (an average of 1.82 metres per year). Those concrete slabs in the frame mark the position of the origin road to Spurn. At the right ("Keep Left"), is the remnant of a by-pass route, itself almost gone. Pr123, the last of the series (Pr1 is at Sewerby), crossed the neck at not quite halfway along the overwash section. Its site may be determined only from coordinates. The tidal surge of December 2013 finished it off. Land loss there in the 160 years from 1854 was a recorded 200.23 metres, 1.25 metres per year average. We live in an interesting time of Spurn's evolution.
🤣🤣🤣 Yes, it was ridiculously close...i was updating my return to home before Timothy decides he was too far from the starting point. 😅 My auto pilot is superb!😉
Great video I bet you two were knackered when you got home. It’s bad enough walking in sand mind trying to push/ ride a bike on it. Can’t wait to see the erosion footage as per usual it’s going to be a classic. Well done to the both on you and Timothy for going to such lengths to bring it to us the viewing public in our nice and cozy homes lol. 👏👏👏👍
I thought of you when we were there 🤣 Cheers buddy and you're welcome 😊 I'm about to start the google Earth vid...very curious to see anything or nothing?
My parents pushed me all the way down spurn when i was a child in a pushchair over 50 years ago, we use to stay at the Crown and anchor pub when it was owned by the oldest landlady in England Mrs Robinson, happy times, love your videos.😎

Absolutely stunning , I definitely want to go to Spurn again but might wait until it's a bit warmer
It would be a wise move 🤣
I quite fancy camping out there one night 🤔

The last time I cycled this from Hull, was just before the breach. Sadly I moved away to the south west, so I doubt I will ever cycle this again.
At least you've already experienced it's awesomeness 👌
that looked like an epic day - can't wait for the next vid - bravo to you for going out you must have been freezing
Cheers buddy, it was freezing and I was about 98% prepared ...fingerless gloves are not the best 🤣

This really was incredible ❤
Wonderful madventure 😍
I rode my motorcycle down to photograph the lighthouses in 2001. It looks, erm, different now.
