Thanks again WW2HH it was fun. It's nice to see an old WW2 structure that doesn't have graffiti all over it. Can't wait for the next adventure.

You find some amazing stuff! The Germans were way ahead of their time during this period. Although all the structures they built were futile, they still are marvels of construction and design. Thanks for taking us along.

Hey ww2historyhunter i have once again enjoyed watching one of your 2018 videos and was amazed! That bunker is huge and i can't imagine the size of the gun, cannon that would have sat in that facility. I really enjoy watching all your videos and look forward to the next ones. Thanks again.

Most of us older folk knew that the nazi War effort was big, but the sheer number and size of the concrete works still standing is amazing.

Looks like the casement that was in the movie Guns of Navarrone! Would be very interesting if you had a picture of the cannon, the round in comparison to a car, the propellent bags and their size, any construction pictures, how was it built, how long did it take, how much concrete was used, how did they get all the materials up the mountain in order to construct such a huge facility, and so on! The Germans were such craftsmen when it came to building such huge things such as this all over Europe, the logistics had to be enormous and would have taken years. Thanks again for such a great and informative video, narrated with such knowledge, can't wait for more!!! Thanks from Texas!

Agreed- a massive undertaking; well planned and engineered. There are some similar big gun emplacements near San Pedro, CA which held 16 inch guns- as Defenses against the Japanese, in the other WWII theater of war. There, the guns were actually installed- when they were test fired, windows shattered in nearby houses. These German guns may have been even larger, had they been deployed.
Enjoyed the railroad angle, as I am a retired RR guy! Thanks for posting, sir.

I am so excited to see that narrow railroad tracks. I’ve heard you talk about it and show pictures of it but to actually see it in your video is exciting. It’s something I would have never seen in my life. It was a struggle but you gave us a great perspective as to what it was like for the soldiers to climb to the top of the bunker. Bunker Buster Girl is proud of you doing that. It’s a beautiful gun placement. looking at it I get the impression of being at the opera and looking at the stage. Very different from other bunkers you have shown us before. You wouldn’t think that 70 Years after the war, camouflage would still be hanging there. That place is huge. If the gun was there imagine all the activities when the alarm went off. A lot of thought and engineering went into the design of the gun placement and operation of it. Great location.

What a site!!! Thank you so much for taking us there! Like you said, most of us will probably never get the chance to go see it in person. As usual I loved the railroad tracks. Would love to walk them myself. Shame the turntable hadn't survived intact. Wonder if any of the actual engines and carts that would've been used on the small-scale tracks survived? That would be a great thing to see at a restored site, them on the tracks especially if they were still functional and you could see them driving on the tracks.

Nice video! Perhaps the “heel iron” may be a pony sized horse shoe? For luck. Also the last video, was the heel iron a pony’ sized shoe too? They do look similar before being fired and fitted. I’m sure pit ponies were used in construction and during the bunkers use for moving materials and munitions.

Amazing find! Would be interesting to see watch size of gun and shells were meant for this massive structure. Curious if a big battleship type gun was meant for here or something else? Along certain areas ( some of the narrowest points of the channel to Britain the Germans would lob these massive shells over the channel in Britain. Curious if this was meant for something like that ? If not perhaps you could do a video on the locations that were used for this exchange of cross channel shell lobbing? Thanks!

For anyone who saw the movie "The Guns of Navarone," this would be where such a gun would be placed. It also reminds me of something that Gen. Patton said about the futility of fixed fortifications. Fantastic scenery, btw.
