Thanks so much for posting these episodes. In many ways the 1970s were a rotten set of years; but in many other ways, it was GREAT! And Match Game was one of things that made that decade bearable for me as a kid! (I was born in 1964.)

Not just women, most men were subdued too. Before home video cameras most normal people outside of show business were shy in front of the camera regardless of what they were like in real life.

A holdover from the original 60s version. The game still has some evolution ahead where the questions get longer and more likely to have double entendres, and with audience involvement ("how dumb was he?" etc.)
BTW he had the long thin mike in the 60's version of the Match Game. It was always his preference. I imagine he had to get another successful season under his belt to get what he wanted.

I was born in 1963. Saturday Morning cartoons, Batman reruns, Lost In Space reruns, and Star Trek reruns are what made the 70s great for me.
