I bet most of us Filipinos don't even know these places exists. Thank you for the History lesson. I was never taught this in my history class. Only what happened here in the US. So proud to be a Pinay.
That's what I said. I just found out about it through this vlogger. When I was growing up in Manila, places like Nayong Pilipino & UP Balara were the top picks for field trips. My mom grew up on that street and I also lived there till I was 10, and we didn't go to the shrine, because it was just a park back then that nobody went to due to the rumor that it was haunted by the spirits of the people who died during the war.

I've never been here, I only heard the place "pinaglabanan". I did not know that theres an old underground water reservoir in San Juan called "El Deposito" built by the Spaniards in 1880. Will add this one to my visit list. I hope there's a website or a tour company that provides tours to see historical places in Philippines for tourists or balikbayans who want to see them. Like 5 places or more like a tour package for a fee. I'm sure a lot of tourist will enjoy the tour. Will bring more tourist and help in maintenance cost. Thanks for the tour!

Nostalgic.! Dyan kame nakatira nung 90's.. Marami akong memories dyan. Lalo dyan sa pinaglabanan monument na nagsilbing malawak naming playground. 😊
Yung tunnel dati napaka creepy dyan.. Pero pag marami kame at umaga nababa kame dyan, may nag gawa pa ng bangka bangkaan gawa sa malaking styro foam at binabangka namin loob nyan kaya lang napaka dilim.. Yung tagusan nyan sa corazon bago dumating ng lumang munisipyo. Sinarhan lang pero dati open yon kita mo maliwanag.

Taga San Juan ako. Noon i think 1974 graduate ako jan sa San Juan municipal High School. Sponsor ako ng dating president erap sa high school. 5 pesos p noon oer month ang tuition pero.libre na ako. Salamat ng marami even 63 yrs old na.ako now parang bumata ako at present. Kapag pinaglabanan day bantay kami doon s pinaglabanan monument sa kanto ng N.Domingo st. Hayy ant bilis ng panahon. Europe had such wonderful engineering feats which they learned primarily from Ancient Rome. Then a revolution in bringing safe water was exploded when it soon discovered that water was primarily the source of viruses and bacteria that cause many illness such as Cholera which was deadly during that time and so it paved way to modern waterworks which included pumps and filtration processes that brought clean water to the masses. ang alam ko po dyan sa reservoire,eh ,pagmaulan dyan talaga ipinapapasok ang tubig ulan para magprotect sa lugar from baha,just like here sa Tokyo ,Japan,where as they do have a very big reservoire built right under the city of Tokyo for rain water and it is 100% bigger than El Deposito,i guess!! sana ,makagawa din po tayo ng ganyan sa Manila para sa baha protection,ha,ha,ha
