- A quick search online shows there are a vast number of techniques people use to combat nuisance algae. This week I utilised the most old school method, manual cleaning, to get my zebra danio (Danio rerio) scape looking better, with some help from liquid CO2 spot dosing as well. I left this tank, other than water changing, for a little too long and this long green algae really took hold, maintaining so many tanks means you cannot take a week off your normal routine with consequences!
I used the @NTLabsOfficialSite pro care range as usual for my tank maintenance.
Plants in this aquascape are:
Hygrophila polysperma
Hygrophila lancea
Lagenandra meeboldii
Botanicals used:
Oak leaves
Beech leaves
Betel pericarp
Very informative! Thank you
I'm inspired to tackle my algae issues, thanks!
Hope it goes well!
for real made me watch a video of 14 minutes about manual removing algue with the titel how to fix it quick.
I’m just sharing my method, I personally believe it is the most efficient way to tackle algae issues. I very much stated and explained what I was going to do/ cover during this very early in the video where I listed out each step.
I think it is important to show that basic aquarium husbandry is a perfectly good method rather than promoting an expensive treatment for the same results (whilst potentially wiping out other life in the aquarium).
I am sorry that this has annoyed you
Hygrophila only tank is great idea 👌 once i had something like that in bettatank
Yes, I think it could be done a bit better than my attempt but I’m certainly sold on the concept of hygrophila only tank!
Great job 👍, name of the lamp?
The unit came with the tank, it’s an aquael ultrascape set
What tank and stand is this?
This is the Aquael ultrascape 60 set 👍🏼😊
You need a lot more plants and less light
I usually only run the light at 1/3 power but whacked it up to full for filming. But yea it’s probably still too much with some sun coming through the windows too for this amount of plant growth. Unfortunately, the layout needs that open space for fast swimming danios and can’t be fully planted up.
@@alexb_aquatics In that case cut the sunlight out. If fishes are your thing, keep light hours to minimum (6 hours)
