I loved the whole movie ... the directing, cinematography costumes the acting... it was all on point ... the only thing I truly hated and made absolutely no sense to me at all was when Teddy died in the grain silo ... I was like WTF ... Why the f-did they have to kill Teddy? I watched the movie twice to try to understand why on earth they decided it would be a good idea to kill Teddy ... it still makes absolutely no sense to me ... especially since the main character finally got to the point in her storyline where she could feel loved... for perhaps the very first time in her life and finally believed she was no longer cursed ... Only to immediately be forced back into the torture of feeling cursed and abandoned all over again and again. I thought if anyone deserved to die a terrible screen death it was that witch of a school teacher. That's the only thing I wish I could change about this movie... kill the damn school teacher and let Tilly and Teddy have a better life together away from that terrible place ... Tilly and Teddy should have both been on that train in the end. I do understand in the end she got her revenge on the entire town for her stolen childhood and all... but now she's even more cursed by literally leaving nothing but ashes in her wake... It really would have been a far better story if they (the director and the screenwriter) had found a way for both Tilly and Teddy to get out of that God forsaken place alive... people need to be able to believe that a better life is at least possible... otherwise it's all meaningless ... Without love or hope what's the point of living life at all?
