One very impressive thing is that Sohyang sang this song again this month, and she hit all the same notes the same way, 9 years later, it just shows how healthy her vocal technique is.
You have got to check out her version of Misty from Begin Again Korea. Its only a 3 minute video and you will love what she did with this jazz classic.
The effect she has on Lee Suhyun at the end of the video is precious. I think thats maybe the most impressive thing about her...the complete reverence and awe she inspires in fellow musicians
If you wanna cry you should react to her rendition of "Breathe" in the masked singer competition. I had to watch this twice. First time, I was watching your reaction Julia and I loved seeing your emotion continue to swell until you couldn't hold it anymore. You spoke of Sohyang's masterful control and how it brings the listener in along the journey of the story. So I watched this a second time, keeping my attention to the audience. And I saw what you meant, the crowd was completely engaged. I didn't see anyone playing on their phone and drifting off not paying attention. Thank you for this reaction! You're very right. So Hyang is really blessed with that voice of hers. She also never joined any entertainment agency and branded herself as a gospel singer. Great observations, Julia! It appears that you appreciate every nuance of masterful artistry and technique that the artist intends us to appreciate. That dexterity and agility in the upper registers is what sets Sohyang apart from other pop singers. I think Korea is one of the few places in the world that could produce a singer with that sort of versatility that resists genre pigeonholes. If you understood the judges' comments in talent shows, they are always giving critical comments about every minutia of technique. Proper technique, good musical sense and good taste are acknowledged to be important no matter what genre you are performing.

You might want to check out her version of " Running In The Sky". It's SoHyang as you've never seen her singing a rock song! She can sing any genre. She even raps in " Day Day" and in " Mona Lisa" she hits every note in the 5th octave!
Glad to see you still appreciate the Sohyang, was starting to wonder. If you want 6 for 6 Misty from begin again korea will do it and be different than what you have seen so far. It's staggering what is still out there that will blow you away if it's just these you've seen. Lean on Me, where are you, several from masked singer you just have to see even if you can't see the face. They tend to be different than these others too. One rock, Mona Lisa and home and breathe are stunning. She even raps in Day Day. But seriously, you definitely want to hear the jazzy Misty from begin again korea. It will melt you. One of the best things you'll hear and quite different than the others. Man I just realized no I have nothing yet too. You have so much more utter blowing away to experience yet. All of these are on and above even what you have heard.

Thank you for reacting to SoHyang again. She remains my favorite vocalist not only for her mastery of the voice but for her as a person. You might want to check out her version of " Running In The Sky". It's SoHyang as you've never seen her singing a rock song! She can sing any genre. She even raps in " Day Day" and in " Mona Lisa" she hits every note in the 5th octave!
The best rendition of this song, for me! The same great reaction of Julia's! So Hyang is simply phenomenal!
Glad to see you still appreciate the Sohyang, was starting to wonder. If you want 6 for 6 Misty from begin again korea will do it and be different than what you have seen so far. It's staggering what is still out there that will blow you away if it's just these you've seen. Lean on Me, where are you, several from masked singer you just have to see even if you can't see the face. They tend to be different than these others too. One rock, Mona Lisa and home and breathe are stunning. She even raps in Day Day.
But seriously, you definitely want to hear the jazzy Misty from begin again korea. It will melt you. One of the best things you'll hear and quite different than the others.
