I'll have to try a Deli sharpener. Thanks for showing this. Quick question - are there any of these type of sharpeners out there that do not leave any grip dent on the pencil body? Many thanks Duffy!
Thanks, Barry! Yes: if you prefer a sharpener that doesn't leave unsightly teeth marks on your pencil, the 0616B has been redesigned to eliminate its metal jaws. It now uses a pair of (internal) rubber rollers to grip the pencil's barrel. No chewing! I do have an older video on the subject. th-cam.com/video/0RoH_6Zag7Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iiGNb4OBKO-A7wiF
Very pretty sharpener but the lack of autostop is disappointing (heh). Not only does the autostop help not waste pencil length, when you hit the stop, the same blades that grind the point down to size also polish it clean of burrs and imperfections. Even if it makes for a sharper point, what advantage is that? The old one already makes a point comparable to a 0.3mm mechanical pencil lead, there's no utility in going _even more_ needle-thin. I like the idea of a top-down sharpener that you can comfortably manipulate from start to end with one hand, but this design needs a bit of revision.

I agree with your assessment here. Deli knows how to make a very capable sharpener, so an improved version of this shouldn't be hard.
