I have lived in Uganda's Kampala for almost a year, and house, transportation, food, and everything else is cheaper in Addis especially house rent and transportation, which are far more expensive in Kampala.

I have been living in Kampala more than 20 years, honestly before in Uganda life is cheaper than Ethiopia but these days especially after Covid life is too expensive in Uganda even Katwe area rent is expensive 😢banage....any way I missed Uganda ...webale Harriet keep it up...Awangale ...one day will be back my second home

For food one person can live on 7000 birr per person if you can cook and i say around 10000 birr per month, per person.

Hi. Just a shout out for review:
You said a monthly rental cost of an apartment in ? area is “14,000 Eth. Bir, that is $321 (USD). That is an exchange rate of 43 Eth Bir for $1 USD.
And then you said in Bolè area, a monthly rental cost is 65,000 Eth. Bir.
You also said in USD, that is $522. The exchange rate of that is 124.5 Eth. Bir for $1 USD.
That is a huge swing in exchange rate!
Or, could it be some kind of error in the data you gave us?
I think inadvertently, the $321 USD figure you gave us for 14,000 Eth Bir is incorrect. If going by the 124.5 Eth Bir exchange rate, the 14,000 Eth Bir monthly rental cost ought to be more like $112.5 in USD.
Perhaps, the $321 USD figure is what you paid for ~ nearly three months of your stay there.
