In fact, it is Somalis who claim descent from Arabia. 2 of the biggest clans, Darood and Isaaq, both claim descent from an Arab. Oromos also kept in touch many of the cultures and traditions alongside that Somalis abandoned centuries ago when they were arabized almost 1000 years ago (with the advent of Islam). Two branches of Oromo: Borana & Barentu. The Borana Oromos live in Central & Western Oromia/Ethiopia. The Boranas itself has 2 major branches, the Tulema and Mecha. 2. The Barentu Oromo occupy the Eastern part of Oromia/Ethiopia.
Barentu are Nothern as well Wollo and Rayya. Historically we don’t know how far Barentu lived but we see a town called Barentu in modern day Eritrea. In general Oromo people are an ancient East African people.
According your assessments that Oromo increased their numbers throughout assimilations of indigenous population in Ethiopia mean not all Oromo today are bloody tied.
Through Safuu (the Oromo moral value system) Oromos did assimilate other ethnic groups peacefully through naturalization and adoption practises like Moggaasaa and Guddifachaa. However, it has to be understood that this is greatly exaggerated for 2 reasons. First, the pastoral Oromo population, though smaller than Abyssinia, was not a small population. Second, most regions of Oromia (prior to the pastoral Oromo migration) were already inhabited by earlier Oromo sedentary/agro-pastoralist populations. Assimilation of ethnic groups was not exclusive to Oromos either. Somalis assimilated with pre-Islamic inhabitants of modern day Somaliland, Amharas assimilated Agaw/Tigray/Oromo/Omotic populations through expansion and assimilation into Abyssinia. Heck, even the Sabaeans assimilated with the native Agaw populations to create the habesha identity.
They increased their numbers by forced assimilations by wiping out the male figures of other tribes and taking wives and children as war booties as they expanded and occupied most lands of current day Ethiopia. Prior to their expansion, the medieval period Ethiopia was weakened as a result of the conflicts between the Muslim Sultanates and Christian Kings. Thus, a primitive group of nomads from Northern Kenya found the opportunity to easily penetrate that nation and in the process incorporated the culture and lifestyles as is of every groups they assimilated. Therefore, none of them actually have anything in common today except language. Yes the original nomads from Kenya have intermingled with the indigenous tribes they swallowed but not extensively since the distinct features of their ancestries is still apparent.🔔
@@NoRockinMansLandCorrection : Amharas never assimilated Oromos. It is Oromos that assimilated Amharas for that matter.🔔and Agews also assimilated Amharas and Tigrayans when Yodit Gudit was waging wars against the Christians. But later on they themselves were incorporated not wholly but to a degree into both Amgaras and Tigrayans.Get your damn facts straight. Oromos are the most notorious in the history of Ethiopia to forcefully assimilate others and nkt just then, even today they have that crazy dream of expanding and assimilating more. That is like Number 1 out of the entire horn with this habit of wanting something that you don't own.🔔The pastoral lands of Oromos existed in Kenya to begin with not Ethiopia..Ethiopia was already a well civilized nation before the Oromo migration with literally no pastoralist culture except the Afaris and even them had a Sultanate. Yhere was no Gadda no Waqeffena in Ethiopia to begin with before Oromo migration.🔔
I don’t believe that assimilation into Oromo culture is exaggerated; it’s a reality. Many oromized tribes, including some Somali tribes, are aware of their origins. Additionally, there is significant variation in the features and genetic makeup of Oromos, more so than among Somalis and Habesha. To me, being Oromo appears to be more about language and culture than race.
The largest tribe in Africa is the Somali, about 60 million people. The numbers on google and the internet are false. You can see their number on the land they live in.
Well done Go for part 2 until you cover everything about Oromo 🥰There is misinformation here, Correct it They enslaved minority ethnicity not Oromo. Oromo was much powerful it impossible to be slaved. The other ethnicities in Ethiopia was also referred as gala in south. And Oromo didn’t assimilate. Oromo guddifacha is practiced with Oromo people not from other ethnicities. Oromo got assimilated into Tigray and Amhara in the north. Like north Shawa, Walloo and Raya are Oromo people today they are identified as Amhara or Tigray.
raya and welloyes don't look oromo at all. They were never assimilated. when oromos migrated from the south guess who was waiting for them in wello and southern tigray? Obviously Bete-Amharas and Tigrayans. I mean obviously
You mentioned the OLF. What about the OLA--Oromo Liberation Army--that has a different political objective from the OLF. OLA is still seeking self-determination! They are still physically fighting for this objective in Ethiopia!!!

In fact, it is Somalis who claim descent from Arabia. 2 of the biggest clans, Darood and Isaaq, both claim descent from an Arab. But you will not find many, if any at all, that claim descent to Arabs. Oromos also kept in touch many of the cultures and traditions alongside that Somalis abandoned centuries ago when they were arabized almost 1000 years ago (with the advent of Islam). The Rendhille who split from the Somalis around 500-1000 years ago still maintain the cultures and traditions that Somalis lost including the age set tradition of Gadaa, although less sophisticated than that of the Oromo
@@mrsocotraisland1939 Abiy Ahmed does not represent the interest of Oromos. You need to understand something, a leader's ethnicity does not represent their interests. It's their ideology. Barack Obama was a black man but he did not represent the interests of black Americans. This is not a hard thing to understand. Oromos have been suffering under Abiy, I have more than enough proof to show
I love Oromo women from Somali man
MY PEOPLE ❤
The people from the heavens of earth.
😆😆😆😆😆😆🚬🚬🌱🌱🌱
Half of Oromo are Muslim and half are Christian. We are all one Cushitic people.
Yess we’re sanyii Oromo
Wish I could claim I was ethnically aware enough to know what their cultural heritage was aside from being Ethiopian, but I remember a jazz club/restaurant that was in the first floor of a building I once worked in and meeting the management team once. Two absolutely gorgeous sisters who were both originally from Ethiopia. Beautiful personalities to match their physical beauty. I remember so many of my coworkers always mumbling, "Dangit. Why do they have to be married?" LOL
Welcome 🙏
I would like to thank you so much my sister big respect
Why are you exaggerating about beauty and life style when it not. Everyone embellish. There is no difference here. Every African tribe has some of the most beautiful women in the world
Ever heard of lookism?
I agree. They are definitely not more beautiful than the women from the over 500 different tribes and ethnic groups of Nigeria who comes complete with their language and they are 100% indigenous peoples of Africa with no allien DNA in them. Authentic Kemetic peoples, Kushites and other indigenous African peoples. All African countries have spectacularly beautiful women.
😂😂😂😂it hurts when you see your beauty
I am 100 percent black from the Caribbean Islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. My blood line is 100 percent black in my DNA. I hate tribalism.
Natufians BY THE WAY were black looking, not brown. In some of vids they kept. The only folks who existed at the time of Natufians were blacks.

European E1b1b Greek here... Respect and love ❤
That's cool, I didn't know Greeks carried similar haplogroups as us
@@NoRockinMansLand Yes brother, Not just Greeks we were in a few cultures in Europe, Have a look on a map of E-V13 Europe..That's is our subclade of E1b1b... all E-V13 men come from one man in the West Balkans roughly 5500 years ago . . We're from the Northern E1b1b branches that stemmed out of Egypt. The slightly darker European look is the clue, brown hair brown eyes very light tan.. A Greek an Albanian or a typical Italian look. But some E1b1b are very white with blue eyes.. David Attenborough for example. It's been great finding out about our history. I've always have been drawn to Africa 🦁
@@shaolindreams that's really cool, so you guys are really long lost cousins in a sense. I'm Oromo/Somali and we predominantly carry the E-V32/V12 strands, it's the predominant subhaplogroup and it derives from southern Egypt
@@NoRockinMansLand Yeah man i've been learning all about that too. We're the main African element in Europe we've blended in.. Though i think we were already mixed when we left Egypt. There is a sort of opposite group in Africa.. R1b Hausa tribe and some neighbouring people they've also completely changed to their origin. Just shows things are a little more complex than it seems.
@@NoRockinMansLand You are Oromo, why are you telling people you are Somali? so insecure akhas
Oromo people are amazing
Mind is the primary welth for humans but oromos _____
The largest tribe in Africa is the Somali, about 60 million people. The numbers on google and the internet are false. You can see their number on the land they live in.
That is not true.
Keep crying Somalis are the most, Oromos will never have a place in Somalia
That is a straight up lie, the Somali population might be over 20 million but 60 million is outrageously false
Somalia is an empty country in density. And they mostly live in the capital city
Look in Google Oromo people's population 70 million
Oromo are largest cushitic people their closest blood Brothers are other cushitic groups like Somali, Afar , saho , beja ... etc
The slavery part was not true. Those slaves were not ethnically Oromos but brought from southern Ethiopia by Oromo merchants so they labelled as Oromo
Oromo merchants?
Y’all was slaves before 😂😂. Just admit it. If Europeans didn’t get them those Arabs did
The oromoo people today more than 60 milion.Oromo the largest branch gourp from Cushitic people.
You mentioned the OLF. What about the OLA--Oromo Liberation Army--that has a different political objective from the OLF. OLA is still seeking self-determination! They are still physically fighting for this objective in Ethiopia!!!
