The latest version of the BMW 7 Series luxury saloon is arguably the most identifiable, thanks to a bold new nose featuring a kidney grille that's around 40% bigger than the one on the previous model. The size of the grille is not the issue, other manufactures do it as well. It's the fact that the grille goes upwards from the headlamps line, not downwards as it should. Ends up climbing on the bonnet

Well, the 7 series always was the luxury drivers car, while the S-Class always focussed on maximum passenger comfort. It's the same with the current models. If you want to drive by yourself, go for the 7. If you want to be driven by a chauffeur, go for the S-Class. I hope that it will stay that way, I like it when manufacturers have different approaches to get things done.
Am so so disappointed with you Ginny.. This is BMW not everything in life has to be Mercedes ..thought you knew that, great car, l love it.

Jamie Pickles the grille looks ridiculous on camera but when you see the car irl it looks much better especially if you get to used to it after a few hours we got 1 to replace our x5 for a couple of days beautiful car

Odd because plenty have said the ride on the S Class is not as good as the previous model ! You see it’s really all about options isn’t it.

BMV has always been a fun car to drive. The larger grill - its a love or dislike. Overall it is a beautiful car. I have a benz as well which is also a lovely car but when it comes to Driving, the Idrive and Nav system - BMV wins: For me. either car you cant go wrong. Nice review

I have the new 745e. And the fact that this car’s interior is dated detracts from the whole package which is still awesome. Hybrid only gives 18-21miles which is very poor. Otherwise, I’ll say again, it’s an awesome car.

Exactly. At least you get it. That's part of the design motive. I loved it right off anyway - I've been wanting BMW to do something like this for years, something to really Stand Out and take to Mercedes.
The previous cars had 0 character, totally bland and front ends looked like lizards (Mercedes no better really). This 7 is prime luxury
That interior is pretty much identical to my 2017 730
S350 or B7 Alpina If I want luxury performance dynamics and exclusiveness
This new 7 Series has bigger grill, is really really awesome.. Looks more aggressive and luxurious, what else with its solid build up compare to its predecessors, but white interior is not most people liking.

how great to being technician mechanic BMW -KSA, BMW Grill have flaps motor open air going inside engine compartment area to cool engine temp. that how it's works front Grill flaps motor upper and lower it's called radiator blind. radar at lower bumper.

I owned a BMW 520d and loved it: but I feel BMW are in a rut with their dashboard design. To me, the middle screen looks as if an iPad has been glued onto the facia as an afterthought. I just don't feel there is a wow factor. The infotainment system is brilliant; and I prefer the rotary dial to the Audi's touchscreen, but I feel that Audi dashboards are far more stylish. I would like to see BMW keep the rotary dial but follow Audi/Mercedes dashboard design cues.
the Mercedes S class is a lot worse, those two screens look completely out of place, they stick out like a sore thumb
from the very beginning of this video I could sense your hatred towards BMW, and your favouritism towards Merc. And for the rest of the video we had to listen to you go on and on about how Merc is better than BMW, thats disappointing bcz we came here to learn about this new BMW. Its not uncommon for reviewere to compare rival cars, but they normally use statistics and facts, you were using personal bias in my view, saying things like: the Merc is just nicer, or the Merc has always been better, or such. Such continuous comparison of immeasurable preferences really ruins car reviews

Wait hang on; how was she 'negative'?? She clearly said she borderline preferred the ''controversial'' grille (that's just crybabies moaning again; the upright huge grille is magnificent and Presidential).
But how is this -ve? They rate the car really highly, did you have it on mute for the whole 1st 2 minutes??
I Don't Like the Way those Cars Lean into the Corner they should Program the Suspension to Drop on the Inside of the Corner that should help it attain a little more of the Footing .
I really think bmw needs a better steering wheel with the m packages, i mean a flat bottom one or something idk.

After nothing but trouble with the S-class 2 in a row, 2006,2008 (Gear box mainly, lack of service and not honouring warranty) I went back to BMW 7-Series. I have had 4 in total and had one failure (water pump) which was promptly serviced. Never back to S Mercedes, I have learned my lesson and will stay with the BMW 7-Series.
Still driving my 1989 735iL still luxury. Went to a Volt. And I am putting it on light duties as I start to play with a Tesla model 3 soon I hope.
It does have a table at rear

I don’t really think the S class and the 7 series are rivals. A person gets picked up from the airport in an S class. They come back home and drive around in a 7 series. It’s where they both are at its best.
BMW should have redone the dash and center console like the 8 series and x7.
Most, bloody definitely. If you are paying so much for it, why is the interior similar to a 3/5 series. Very short-sighted of Bmw.
Vantage V8 this model is the facelift, BMW will most likely introduce its new dash design in the next gen car

Why doesn’t the infotainment screen have a cover over it like in the 2009 - 2015 7 Series? Without it, it looks easy to unscrew by criminals who steal from cars.

I'd still have an S Class if I had the money to pick one. The Merc has nice flowing lines and curves. This has been styled with a ruler inside and out.

People forget that the original BMW kidney grill used to be big before it got smaller
