And I know I will get attacked for making this comment but seeing as this is abootleg Mario/Sonic game.....the one thing that I never liked about the original Mario when I played it as a kid was the fact you COULD NOT BACKTRACK as the screen would block you from moving backwards. When I played Sonic when I was five and found out you could go back and look for hidden bonuses and pathways I was hyped as shit. Its a small detail but its one of the things that made me go for Sonic as a kid rather than Mario even though I do like both series as an adult now. Sonic really did pull me in with the speed of things. :P

There is a reason why Sonic and Mario feel like two diffferent games and it all has to deal with how the games were programmed. Maybe if you made a Mario-type land that was built to Sonic's movement it would be okay and the same would be for Mario. Either way, the handling on this is a mess so its no wonder they couldn't get too far. Also, it was ironic that in the water levels, TAILS would have been a better character for that since he was originally the only character in the game who could swim in the Gen games (Sonic 3 and Knuckles)

And after watching all these LPers with bootlegs, I have the urge to play some bootlegs now just to see if I can make the shit work. But having watched this, I have finally come to the realization why the original Sonic wouldn't work in the original Mario set up. Aside from being too damn fast, Sonic would be slippery as fuck in the Mario setting and that's with his CORRECT setting from the original Gen controls. Granted though, I'm going by this theory as I watch so it might feel better or worse if I were actually playing this. I mean, watching Mario jump he doesn't freaking FLY EVERYWHERE with simple taps of the control. Mario works perfectly for his game much like I could guess that Mario would feel INCREDIBLY stiff in Sonic's setting with the original controls. I guess it just takes playing both characters in their rival's games to get what everyone was screaming about in the 90s about how the two games worked. Its still funny as fuck to see Sonic spazzing out in Mario though. Its like he's going 'OH SHIT! I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE BUT I CAN'T LAND ON ANYTHING! WHY WAS I PROGRAMMED TO BE SO FUCKIN' FAST!?!' (slips into a pit or something, sobs) This was a fun watch guys. You need to do more bootleg games. XD

Because the game was made by a Russian. Believe it or not, the Sega Genesis is still pretty popular over there so that's why we see a good number of Genesis bootlegs translated into Russian.
Because a lot of the time they are produced in China so you aren't going to get too far with that. And even then, you'd have to actually find the company which a lot of the time are kinda fly by night ones so they don't exist anymore by the time you want to do anything about it.
