Hey Ross, do you think you need more practice with cartoony styles? I say this based on how you did the 90s magical girl and Steven Universe art styles. It might be a great opportunity to experiment and improve!
This is probably the only Style Challenge video on TH-cam in which the artist actually studies the style he is trying to imitate instead of just copying the face of an average character and changing some basic features like the hairstyle or the eye color.
Yeah, I really hate those! It makes me feel like the person is just copying an existing character, leaving nothing of the character they're actually drawing except the obvious physical features

Ross is one of the reason I continue to explore my own style. He was able to draw it in different styles beautifully yet he has consistency in his art that makes it recognizable that its from him. Amazing work! ❤️✨
it would be cool if he did some of his NIMA characters in other styles, i think it would be fun to see someone like Atlas in a sailor moon magical girl style or Nima in a Valorant style
I've been studying the art style of TH-cam artists and found out how their art style also associates with their appearance. You can see that Ross's characters have that Asian look.💕💕 Tip if you are finding an art style is to add something about you.
One thing that stands out the most in Ross's videos is how he always loves what he creates and how he doesn't bash himself. He doesn't have that self-sabotaging atittude that we artists have and I think it's such an important thing to cultivate.... Thanks again, Ross.
Great episode. I love it when artists remind us that their range is bigger than what they are focusing on at the time. I consider Artgerm one of the best artists of his generation. Superb art, with a distinct style I can tell apart immediately. btw, is the reference image on the left (10:04) from Artgerm, and if yes, what do I search for? Is she a comic book character? A quich search didn't return any image that matches that.
i have more of an animated/cartoony style and i struggle with digital painting. it's kind of reassuring to see that it goes the other way around for digital painters xD

Pearl is pretty similar sure but theres some shots of lapis lazuli that REALLY look like that! Still, awesome drawings!
