Hey, I really admire the decoration of your room! The pelts, the skulls, the trophies, the beautiful beaver on your table... You must be a really passionate trapper and you must love fur and all the other products that animals give to us.... You have really an amazing job. It is a shame the fur market is so low now but I guess it doesnt mind you so much as you love fur and trapping so much. I leave the beaver on the table, it must be always a pleasure to put your hands on it, on the soft fur. Fur on the table, fur on the chair... a nice use of your catches! Especially since you know some of them are pests and it is good you have removed them from the wild... I am not a trapper myself regrettably, but I believe your video has helped many younger trappers.... I guess you are always excited when seeing a new fox or coyote in your traps - I guess it is a sight that you'll never get tired of! Have tight chains and many successors, man!
I am parcel to the Duke 4 coil for k9. I still like the side swivel because I prefer drags. Easier to bed, easier to remake. I never had a pull out yet. Thanks for the great review. I set up the pan tension 2lbs. always a high pad in the center of the jaws 14:46
Nice That’s Awesome, Yes I put that video up for the people maybe on the fence about starting a line , I mean those 550s an pro series are nice to have but they come with a sticker price , Hopefully will get a few more trappers out of it 👍. Thanks For Watching
Thanks Jutnjen , Stay tune I’m going to put up a video showing how to 4coil a #3 Duke , using the beefer 4 coil kit , making it a most powerful trap not so much for the hold power but to bust up through the frosty ground we play in …Thanks For Watching
This was very interesting thanks for sharing 👍 I tried your smoked fish recipe came out really good but I couldn't find any apple wood so I used hickory thanks again.
Look at the Duke #2 square jaw. Dogless or dog on. Both are base plated. Using a regular base plate. Better chain on them. I do run a few Duke 1 3/4 traps. I went thru them. 4 coil base plated and bubble tip the jaws. Laminated the jaws replace factory chain. With #2 machine chain. Add 3 mb swivels. Fixing to replace the factory dog. With a ss heavy duty dog.
Official Duke nomenclature is #13/4 CS OS 4X 4X4 Offset. Dont have these but I do have a couple of Duke #2's. Those skinny Duke jaws can cut deep and do a lot of damage. I added inside and outside laminations along with a baseplate and 4 coiling.
Hey Wacker, nice review and you are right when the duke trap first came out they were junk ,but to me now they are just as good as the other traps company ,they came a long way. 😉
Yep I know those swivels very well being from the coast an workin a bait an tackle shop . I Do a have a few of my traps rigged up with those 600 pound Sampo swivels ( The only brand I trust ) , the problem is they have closed ends ,so you would have to rig up 2 extra normal trapping chain swivels to make them work … I love the smaller size but there really not practical… Thanks For Watching
That's exactly what I don't like about Duke traps. I bought a case of them maybe 8-10 years ago and was going to have to re-build every one of them. I just put them on e-bay and moved on. I have MB and Bridger now.
Well that might be easier to use ,but the chances of that releasing ,because of all the movement of a trapped animal are not worth the risk …Thanks For Watching
To old school for foreign traps I like traps that are made here in The good ole USA Not saying they are no good they probably are as good as ours I feel the same about knives Just something about made China or Pakistan or Taiwan Just don't do it for me

Great video. A lot of folks dont realize what a 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 can hold. One of my big Bobcats this year was on a 1 1/2.

Your right, but they have come along way since then, Thanks for Watching
Why not use a quick couple
Well that might be easier to use ,but the chances of that releasing ,because of all the movement of a trapped animal are not worth the risk …Thanks For Watching
