Nice video I was at the pa convention on Saturday met Bill Duke nice that you were lucky enough to snake a banner thanks for the tip new 2nd year trapper here
I have a bunch of those Montgomery 1 1/2` with the really thick and nicely rounded jaws and really strong music wire springs. They are even harder to set being as I am much older. I bought a bunch of Sleepy Creek traps right before they closed the doors back on June 30, 2019. I have almost everything from 1 1/2 coils to 4 1/2 double long spring. The one I was not able to get was the #2 double long spring. I really wanted a dozen of those, but it didn`t happen.
Great information and details you gave in the videoTodd . I never saw anyone do that to the leaves before. I really like that idea. I met you Thursday afternoon at the convention in Honey Brook Pennsylvania.. I was the one that had the german shorthair pointer and I was driving around on a scooter. It was nice meeting and talking with you. 👍🏻
I gotta ask, are you from Mifflin County? I just got into trapping last year. We have a coyote problem at camp. I ask because I went to school with some Stroheckers. As a newb to predator trapping, I could use some tips on trapping in my local area.
@@toddstrohecker cool. There aren’t a lot of Stroheckers around this area so I figured maybe you were part of the local clan. I went to school with a Shane, probably around 45 years old.
Yeah, seems also what you buy. I heard the #3 double was very easy to bed. But I really had to mess around with them to get the jaws flat. And I bought the #2 4 coil became my favorite trap.

You can also bend the spring pins down on the loose jaw side and it helps it bed.
Ive been used Duke 1 1/2 for 18 year now and have hod no problems with anything.

It was nice meeting you as well
The 1 1/2 coil is the bread n butter of traps, I have over 400, rats ,mink, coon, fox
Your chicken are a great background 😋
Great video, very informative
Good traps my buddy just got quad springs for his 1.5 dukes.
why not center swivel?
For surface bedding traps or water sets on a hard surface the side swivel works better for me. I don’t mind a side swivel on a round jawed trap.
@@toddstrohecker what about a dirt hole no good

No I’m not. I’m from a big family so there could be relatives there though!
