You DO have some very rare vehicles apparently in excellent condition. I grew up an Army brat, my late father having spent 39 months in the Pacific during WWII (he never talked about it much). During our assignments in France, Taiwan and New Jersey I had many opportunities for Jeep rides to school and to play on various trucks and M48 and M60 tanks. Thanks for the memories! the rear tires that have sharp square lugs are original non directional tires the ones with a rounded lug are newer cross country non directional.they both last a long time because they use innertubes

I m a fan of the GMC 2 1/2 ton series , so would be interested to know if your going to add other GMC's to your collection , as your aware there are many other types that were produced in smaller numbers than the plain cargo model.

I really want to see a M3 75mm GMC in some bodies collection. I'm not even sure any still exist at all,but I don't see why somebody could create a replica from an M3 Half Track, with a a bunch of parts to make the 75mm gun mount etc.
Yes, and no the US army in Ww2 decided to standardize on a carbine for all non infrantry troops for several reason one they were cheaper than the Thompson which was still being used at the time of the m1s adoption, and two they were more accurate over range than a submachine gun, also with the M2 carbine which was later adopted they had select fire so they became overall way more handy truck guns
He just said the half track is front wheel drive that doesn’t make sense at all ... the rear tracks which get more traction would be driven not the rubber tyre at the front ...

Why were they issued the carbine instead of an SMG? Aren't SMG's smaller and handier for vehicle operators?

A better description would be four wheel drive , the front axle could be engaged when needed , has a high and low range .
