My great uncle is/was an Englishman from Manchester and was sent to Greece and Serbia to help the Serbs free their country from Austro-Hungarian empire occupation. He drove Ford and Austin trucks like the examples in this video. It was aa gruelling effort, a tough campaign which gets little told in the UK, USA etc. We have his Balkans medal, friends in the army found his records and a diary written and illustrated by another British man who served there. Interesting history. Tough times for many. Lest we forget. Let us be at peace with our neighbours.

At 7:24 you point out the "periscope" binoculars there in the case. These would not only allow you to see over the top of the entrenchment, but could also give you the range to target. Each lens rotates independently on the z axis (i.e. left to right.) When each of the images overlapped in the view finder it would display a number that indicated distance to target.

    Dragon Man,
Do you happen to have one of the prototype Springfield trench 1903 rifles in your collection?
I saw one on a show southern pawn stars. This guy, his grandfather was one of the people who helped to create it towards the end of Ww1, it never saw service. There were only 5 made, and he sold it to buy his kid a car for graduation. The rifle went at the top of the trench, and the shooter used a periscope mounted for sighting, it had a 30 rd mag fixed and you would work the bolt action from linkage at the bottom.
Just found your channel and enjoy the hell out of your videos.
Thank you for the way you are telling military history from 1 vet to another.

WW2 was actually the most bloodiest American conflict with 291,557 deaths followed by the civil war with 241,070 KIA. Even if WW1 was going on at the time the American civil war claimed more victims
