Caro! Thank you so much for breaking the mold and talking about something "outside your niche ". I too am an artist, try to be as sustainable as possible, and practice various forms of wellness. But, I also love hockey! (And the fact that my team's arena is "Climate Pledge Arena" furthers that love.). Hey Caro! I'm a Medium. I find it fascinating that you enjoy to press flowers. You seem to me, a person that is very connected to the harmony in nature. For me, dead plants are like dead animals or even a dead person. Think of it this way, when you paint plants, you don't think of or desire to paint dead ones. It carries a transcending energy that should be put back in the dirt. Not kept inside your home. To me it feels like it invites an energy inside the home that gravitates to death. If your feeling down, if you're feeling uneasy or scared and maybe you think it's anxiety. I would get rid of all the dead plants, pressed flowers, and in your mind try to picture any dead flowers you remember seeing coming back alive or turning into a bigger flower. I know this sounds crazy. But I love your channel and art. Truly, your art is so wonderful. I'm an artist myself. I paint folk art and sort of a contemporary style and sometimes even part of it ends up abstract. I used to make art like you. But with age something changed in me. Don't be afraid to do something different. I see you have a consistent color palette which is awesome when you're looking at art as a career. I would love to see you go off the rails and see you do something that shouts in you, or at least if or when you hear that calling to please share it with us! lol Big hugs this season. I know its rough. I can't wait to order! But I won't be able to until February. - Angie

Wild dagga, native plant ally and medicine of importance to various indigenous communities of Southern Africa like the khoi, san. Invites insects and birds too. Would be cool to see origin story on seed packaging. Lovely artwork❤
@@MicheKoyama yes! Wild Dagga and Klip Dagga are cousins 🧡 it is so fascinating to learn plant stories and their cosmogony
Isn't it? Kilp dagga also indigenous ally. Dagga pronounced like ur hacking in ur throat 😅 is local slang for Marijuana although not the same plant.
I always love opening TH-cam & seeing you posted! I was curious what type of printer and paper you use for your prints? They always look so lovely with vivid colors 😍🦋!
@@pookafey thank you! I use different types, some of them I get printed (in 2 different printing facilities) and some I print in my studio! All paper is either 100% cotton or sustainably harvested organic agave or hemp, I believe I go into detail in a couple of older videos 💛

Lovely video ! I’ve been following your beautiful work for quite some time. As a natural science artist mainly watercolor I wonder if you would mind a question ? I understand you paint with watercolor but does that include gouache for you ? If you work with gouache too do you seal your originals? I ask because I am researching different sealants for gouache ( a new medium for me ) which I’m planning to paint on canvas. A few sealants I’ve found have petroleum in them in a wax form and another more non toxic is a spray form. Just wondering if you might have heard of a natural, effective sealant that you wouldn’t mind sharing. Thank you. Peace!
@@judithutter1924 hiii! I used to paint with gouache but I don't any longer, now I'm only using 100% natural pigment watercolors. I don't use any sealer, just Watercolors on top of watercolor paper! That being said, a few of the paintings I am currently working on and WIP's have gouche as I started them a couple years ago when gouache was till part of my art supplies, so up until now I haven't released a painting that is only watercolors, can't wait to finish the old ones I am working on and start that! Hope that makes sense :)
