I’ve met so many “Danielle’s” in the hippy scene. Claiming to ‘manifest’ whatever they want when the reality is that they are actually manipulating and brow beating others into doing everything for them and then when something doesn’t go right, blaming them for it. She reminds me of someone I know who shamed her friend into doing all this brick work for her for free outside, in the middle of summer, after he finished his 10hr a day construction job. She called him a bad friend when he said he wasn’t even qualified to do what she wanted and didn’t want to do it, eventually he caves in and does it all for free whilst she continues to browbeat him into stealing stuff from his workplace to use - lo and behold a year later the bricks have a crack and she’s FURIOUS. He told her that he wasn’t qualified and didn’t know how to do what she wanted properly but that didn’t stop her threatening to sue him when he refused to pay for a qualified tradesman to fix the bricks (a $2,000 fix out of the whole job that would’ve cost $15,000 + materials if he didn’t do it for free).

I'm quite confused how some people don't end up living in the street in abject poverty in their 60s with their irresponsible spending habits. Like everyone deserves housing but nobody is entitled to exorbitant luxury without having the financial capability to even support themselves. Like I have some savings in the bank but if I want to retire now then I'd probably have to keep everything in the S&P 500 and limit myself to a monthly budget of $300 per month meaning I'll probably have to live in a car forever. And that's assuming no inflation, which never happens, so it's possible that I won't even be able to afford peanut butter and bread in 10-20 years.

I'm quite confused how some people don't end up living in the street in abject poverty in their 60s with their irresponsible spending habits. Like everyone deserves housing but nobody is entitled to exorbitant luxury without having the financial capability to even support themselves.
Like I have some savings in the bank but if I want to retire now then I'd probably have to keep everything in the S&P 500 and limit myself to a monthly budget of $300 per month meaning I'll probably have to live in a car forever. And that's assuming no inflation, which never happens, so it's possible that I won't even be able to afford peanut butter and bread in 10-20 years.
