A small taste of what it is like adopting and raising a paralyzed child and navigating life with all the other kids. You know what, though? Absolute BEST thing I have ever done!! You are doing great, imo. Freedom but supervision- and of course all that love she gets- it's wonderful.

Oh no, she wouldn't be safe under the big's hooves! She can't move as fast. Besides, Petunia is big and beefy, no comparison. 😳 Another reason is because of her immune system. She can't fight off the things the others can.

You're just going to have to learn work with one eye on your work & one eye on Journey. All you can do is try your best. Then leave it at that. She's your goat after all. We adore her but all we get to see is a few beautiful minutes of your life. We treasure those minutes. But when it comes to making real decisions we just don't have enough information to make the hard decisions. There's just not enough data. Your goat, your life, you make the decisions. By you, I actually mean you, Jamie, LE & all the rest of your clan. You know what it's like 24/7 with her. I'd probably let her out but hover over her too. I'd also be worried sick about her while doing it too. Just remember whatever you decide with the full amount of information the vast majority of us will support you.

Journey is having the best quality of life possible and I understand your fears for her Lester but you can’t be around her every second and to keep her in that little stall would be wrong, Just keep a weather eye on her when she’s out and about that’s all you can do really, Journey is like any disabled person she wants her independence no matter what and look how far she’s come compare now with how she used to be hardly able to walk and now she gets around pretty quick even on two legs as well! She’s a marvel, My advice for what it’s worth is this.....For the time that she’s with us however short or long that time will be just let her be the best goat that she can be that’s all any of us want to be the best that we can be, As I said keep a weather eye open and minimise the risks while giving her some freedom to be journey.

My husband has late stage dementia and he only wants pudding, ice cream, cookies, milk. He won't eat anything that's good for him. My Dr. agrees that at this stage of his life, give what he wants, to keep him happy.

Totally agree it would not be fair not letting her experience as much as she can just because she is disabled when she does not think of herself that way let her live a full life so she does not have to wonder why she can't do the same things that pig Newton and everybody else can do and her just eventually be lonely when the rest get to move on with their lives and she does not get to do the same. Do not treat her radically different than everyone else even if she can't be in with the littles and everywhere without supervision because she is going to be getting bigger too and won't stay this little forever she will eventually be big like the rest if she lives long enough let her have the experiences she would have that a normal goat would to the greatest extent possible.
Journey is coming right along adapting to her handicap. She's going to make it. What we need is someone that can work some magic and make little shoes or pads for her knubs so she won't get sore and get infected. I'm sure that Lester is working on this or has thought of it. I see y'all keep her bandaged but you can't help but be inspired by her little spirit and that bit heart she has. She's full of love and we all love her too

Journey and Maggie could be buddies. Maggie will keep her safe. Petunia just wouldnt give Journey enough stimulation. Also you're missing a golden opportunity to teach your students about tolerance, patience, and assisting the disabled using Journey. I've seen pigs, dogs etc being taken to schools to teach about adaptation, blindness, deafness etc some in wheelchairs. Put her on some Jazzy clothes, and a diaper and let her teach!

Once again, I learned something new from Lester the teacher! When you said "hardy, h-a-r-d-y" I corrected you in my head and thought, no, its "hearty"...but alas, you are correct! I learned another new word from watching you! (The last word you taught me was "antithesis"). Thank you for you wonderful videos, and the vocab lessons! :)

Hardy is a word too actually and totally applies the way you said it and is frequently used exactly the way you used it.

Totally agree it would not be fair not letting her experience as much as she can just because she is disabled when she does not think of herself that way let her live a full life so she does not have to wonder why she can't do the same things that pig Newton and everybody else can do and her just eventually be lonely when the rest get to move on with their lives and she does not get to do the same. Do not treat her radically different than everyone else even if she can't be in with the littles and everywhere without supervision because she is going to be getting bigger too and won't stay this little forever she will eventually be big like the rest if she lives long enough let her have the experiences she would have that a normal goat would to the greatest extent possible.

Journey is coming right along adapting to her handicap. She's going to make it. What we need is someone that can work some magic and make little shoes or pads for her knubs so she won't get sore and get infected. I'm sure that Lester is working on this or has thought of it. I see y'all keep her bandaged but you can't help but be inspired by her little spirit and that bit heart she has. She's full of love and we all love her too

Journey needs companionship and of course will follow Pig Newton. Accidents will happen so that is why you take precautions. She can’t be left out to wonder with Pig Newton without human eye on her. I thought the smaller pasture was working for them at least when you can’t watch them?💕

Journey and Maggie could be buddies. Maggie will keep her safe. Petunia just wouldnt give Journey enough stimulation. Also you're missing a golden opportunity to teach your students about tolerance, patience, and assisting the disabled using Journey. I've seen pigs, dogs etc being taken to schools to teach about adaptation, blindness, deafness etc some in wheelchairs. Put her on some Jazzy clothes, and a diaper and let her teach!
Or a nursing home . The residents would love journey ..
