    Nice! I have a 2001 that I keep up north at my property, and it's our work horse. It tows yard carts and tears up the trails. I just redid the top end, and it runs amazing. It's a keeper for sure.

      Very nice, I am thinking about redoing the top end in mine. I have not checked compression. I started working on it again because I sold my sportsman 500, but starting to think I may just get back into a Sportsman 570 touring if I am going to ride it very much. Getting a little older and I can really feel the single axle on my back.

      @@factionfx Mine had a lot of piston slap, so I knew it was time. When I tore it down it still had the original piston with a couple cracks in it, and had tons of blow by so the rings were shot. Once replaced, it felt like a completely different machine. It had regained all the power it had lost.

    Have the exact year 250 trailblazer identical to this one with RCR light weight piston and fresh bore 1 year ago and have never gotten to ride it! Nothing bug horrible bog at any point in the throttle. I will barly roll u around the yard. We have tried different carbs all with same results. I have been so discussed with this machine! All new engine and all. I rolled it out behind the barn and covered it up and out of site.. wish I could go back to the day I bought it off the kid that blew it up and slapped myself for buying this one.

      Was it timi, carb boot leak? Can the bike get in your good graces again?

      Ah man that sucks. One thing that can go out in these is the crank seals. Basically causes a lean condition and won't run right. Rick Ritter should be some help.

    That quad is identical to my 2006 scrambler 500 except of course different engine and AWD. All the parts are probably interchangeable as well. Good to know when looking for used parts!

      yes, thanks. I just upgraded the seatcover on it last week(didn't post a video). Also upgraded the hand brake master cylinder to a larger (more powerful) one from a sportsman 500 of the same generation. Brakes have a lot more power now.

      The Scrambler and Trailblazer are mainly identical because as manufactures wanting to become the fastest, they made bigger engines, so they kept on increasing and increasing. My own Trailboss 250 has other models that are 325s and up.

    Thx for the heads up about too much carrier bearing grease. Just four or five shots a couple times a yr git her?

    • @factionfx
      @factionfx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I don't really know the answer to that. What you mentioned sounds like good guidelines. I have had these machines since around 2007 (scrambler, a couple trail blazers, and a trail boss)....I always greased them every ride until i could hear the grease wanting to escape. never had any problems. Now I am thinking "less is more". I will still lubricate all of the joints every ride.

    At 64 I ain't yoo old for the 250. Do have a Kawasaki Mojave that I may sell for this. 400 Scrambler faster, yes, but also radiator, water pump, counterbalancer maintenance. 250 simple,pipe and stiffer clutch springs, maybe bigger carb.

    • @factionfx
      @factionfx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      most likely you need a top end. i actually recently just resealed my exhaust to the header and reduced my oil ratio from 32:1 to 40:1 and it runs even better.

    Where did you get the throttle cable from?

    • @factionfx
      @factionfx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ritter cycle has the single pull throttle cable and the oil block off kit.

    • @erichoover8624
      @erichoover8624 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@factionfx dose the block off kit affect performance

    • @factionfx
      @factionfx  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erichoover8624 no. But a lot of people think it actually makes them run better because the fuel/oil ratio is constant. Currently running mine at 40:1 and it runs really good.

    Would you recommend buying one in 2021 ?

    • @factionfx
      @factionfx  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can find a decent one. they changed them a little bit in 2005+. Basically any one that you find will probably need extensive work. All the bushings and joints replaces as well as the bearings. If you can find a garage queen you will still need to replace the bushings I imagine.

      I have it listed locally in Dallas on facebook marketplace for $3500. Price sounds crazy til you look and see that most of the ragged out ones are $2000 that will need extensive repairs and i've got a lot of upgrades on this one (tires, winch, etc)
