Scotts music changed my life as a guitarist for the better in very profound ways and additionally he's a great guy. ANYONE that thumbs down Scott is not just a jerk, they have a plastic bottle cap for a soul.
Me too, I found him 10 years ago and haven't been the same. To this day I still spend time studying him. He's one of those few guitar players who have truly found a unique voice on the instrument.
You are so right about him also being a great guy. On the rare occasions I've had meeting and talking to him personally, he has ALWAYS been so humble and modest about himself, not even close to having a glimmer of an ego.
My all-time favorite guitar player, he just never gets old. In fact, he has shifted and changed and improved with time, and his playing today is at masterpiece level. A true virtuoso...such smooth, tasty and natural phrasing, complex and sophisticated, yet accessible. He doesn't show off because he doesn't need to, his improvisation speaks for itself and shows a level of maturity sometimes lacking in the genre. This video just makes me shake my head all over again - very inspirational.
Some guitarists create an entire universe of sounds and ideas all their own that somehow exceeds them as individuals and we all get to occupy that world. Scott is a maker of one such unique world.
I can listen to Scott for hours & not get bored !!! Would be fantastic to see him next to Mike Stern & Mike Landau on one stage or perhaps Jimmy Herring as well ! ... ?

I'm playing guitar since I'm 14. Now I'm 41 and I have no clue what Scott is playing! I mean I'm not too bad at guitar, know a lot of scales, but still this guy is a mystery and genious for me. Absolutely out of this world!
that's just such a great composition, from a brilliant album, I love particularly the false ending that then develops the song even further and just so delicately. A real musical masterpiece, and played live is a feat in itself. A one of a kind tune from a one of a kind musician.
Not only is he at the top of his craft but he keeps pushing the goal posts out further and nailing it. Really good section.They’re all 💯 support and in control. Super confident bass that doesn’t get in the way of anything and a drummer who plays for the group. Selfless performance. Respect ✊

Sounds devine! On the album cd through a big system. Who ever recorded and mixed it don't s great job. There's so much tony detail beyond the layers in the mix.
I had my strat plus for years with a loose whammy bar and then I learned that they sell little springs to keep them from dangling but now I am confused...

After the passing of Alam Holdsworth I think he is the torch bearer for guitarists. A true pioneer. A great guy and brilliant musician.
