Merry Christmas to America and the world. More radio stations should play this song each year before Christmas. It would catch a lot of empty souls to pay attention to the message. Whether you believe in Christmas or not this song can catch one pay attention to the words maybe for the first time.
Been homeless awhile. Been listening to Amy and Levon tonight. They lift me up because they were always regular people. I'll go to the Christmas community center dinner in Woodstock before embarking on one final spirit journey. Lift me up.
I love Amy's voice and this is a beautiful rendition, but nothing can beat the soulful, plaintive quality of Rick Danko's voice. He was born to sing this song.
Each time I listen and watch your video I am transformed by your authentic inclusiveness. Your performance is a special moment, validating love, life and the inspirational power of collective trust.
I’m listening Sept ‘23 and it reminds me of my Grampy I lost Christmas time last year, when I 1st discovered this song and listening tonight brought me right back there to that time. And reminded me how much I loved that man and how much I miss him. I just cried like a baby.
I love the band and your father has been and will always be a source of inspiration for me. I love you family Helm . Tin from San Benedetto del Tronto. (Italy)
As far as I know, this is a very personal Robbie-song, celebrating the birth of his son. Maybe the "thumbdown trolls" are just wondering why that song is performed in Levon´s studio, since Levon spent the last 35 years of his life profoundly hating Robbie? Don´t get me wrong, though, I do NOT take side in that sad feud, I simply love and respect all five of the guys and bless them for all those great songs. And this one is great, too. So, no thumb down from me, only - thank you Amy and the rest of you for making this beautiful version yet another great BAND-song.
Amy your dad shourley. Be proud watching from heaven. I met your dad 1978 dinner key motel. Through my good friend Fred Neal. I was 22 years of old age. Fread brought a part of me I never knew I had Being able to play the gator. ,right music and poetry. Both of them will shourley mised.
Christmas in March 2019 ... March 26, to be perzack. THIS is just so good. This is the perfect group, perfectly matched to this perfect song. And how did all you guys keep from just grabbing Amy Helm and hugging the life out of her? Good grief.
Drums could have been mixed back a bit, if possible -- just my opinion, of course. But gee, this is SO good. LIVE music this is ... And the subject matter doesn't get any better than this. Wow. This is wonderful.
I love this song I believe Leon got saved before he passed away I don't know if he is still alive or not!?and agree with the one person that said people that gave thumbs down, they need to listen to their Taylor swift garbage where half of these wannabes have to use autotune because they absolutely cannot sing so go somewhere and learn how to sing!!!!😠
Most underrated Christmas song
Her father's daughter. Thank you Amy for continuing your father's legacy. Miss your father & the Band.

Levon is smiling down....
This song was written for Billy Baranowski!!! The real chorus before it was changed went " son of an engineer
Patti carried the torch
Robbie Robertson wrote the song for his son who had been born 6 months earlier. Robbie's third child and only son.
Una gran bella versione oserei dire quasi meglio dell'originale
Someone boost the mic of the small guitar player ! :D
リヴォンの娘さんですか。
Levon's daughter...
Three people named. At least 5 unnamed on this song.
sounds good but the tambourine is ruining it or me. he should have used a shaker to do what he's doing...
Haha, key of D......are you serious?!!

Totally orthodox rendering of Jesus's birth and the gospel implications of it.
Beautiful 💖
