    I ordered the Player just for these profiles. New to Kemper but love the MBritt presets on my Stomp. That is pretty much the foundation of everything I use on it.

    Just bought the kemper player as I sold my toaster just before covid to get an AFX3 and later ToneX and NAM plugin. I can still ear that « kemper » behavior. Not convinced after using ToneX, wich is very much accurate for the feel and for the sound. Kemper Player is for dads like me who are still convinced it’s the best you can get today 😂

      idk, I bought the player for city and fly dates. Seems to get 99% of the tone and a small footprint. I also have an ax e fx and have used other modelers in the past. Can you explain what you mean by “Kemper behavior?”

    • @heartsquaremusic2953

      btw the only reason why I did not go with tone X is because it does not have delay on board

    The Player is really nice! But also make sure to watch Leo Gibson's latest video with a "scientific" comparison between the Player and the ToneX. Kemper is still cool but clearly falls back with accuracy. Is it audible? No, I would say, I won't change my existing Kemper rigs for a few percent barely audible accuracy. But the future belongs to the new kids - if Kemper refuses to bring new technology. That's how marketing works.

      Digital guitar tone has hit the ceiling, there's no need for it to get any better....it's like trying to improve a 65 Deluxe Reverb.
      Do you think the thousands of guitarists playing Kempers live loving their live tone care about Leo Gibsons scientific TH-cam tests? They couldn't care less, they don't even know who he is.

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +26

      I would agree with this statement. I never said that the Kemper is better than a tube amp or better than any other modeler etc. You just have to find what works for you and the Kemper has been my go-to guitar rig for live and studio for 10 years now and I don't see anything else that makes me want to change. Lots of Fractal and Kempers and even some QC's on stages now. They all work. The most common misconception I see people who think just using a real amp gives you better tone. I've heard plenty of real tube guitar rigs sound like absolute crap through a p.a. There are always many variables and in the end, they're all just tools. Find what works for you. @@guitartoneSA

      @@lonegtrthanks for the input! I’m looking for a core amp tone provider to match with my hx stomp but I’m concerned about getting too much digital so the response may be affected as the signal goes through a double processing process. Does it have any sense, or I won’t hear any difference? Thanks in advance!

      Every profile I heard on this video to me sounds better than anything I’ve tried to dial in or download on the Tonex. The Tonex is a chore to use and the software sucks. Its just not user friendly. I don’t care how accurate it is if it’s a hassle to use. I went back to Kemper because it’s easier and sounds better. Just my experience.

    Just bought this pack and it sounds incredible. It is also incredibly useful the organization of the rigs. I have to understand what combination might do for me - my great fives. Just one thing to note : all of the presets sounded very 'dull'/'opaque' - so I had to turn up to 8.5, 9 or 10 the definition and also up to 1.0-1.5 mid, treble and presence amp eq settings for each preset... am I doing something wrong (btw, I have a Headrush frfr108 active cabinet connected via Canon cable to the kemper player) ?

    sounds great as usual, what guitar are you demoing with, what compressor do you use and settings, your so awesome.

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      These demos were done with my Tom Anderson Drop T. All of the pickups are Anderson: bridge-TF3, middle-Sc1, neck pq1 (p90). As far as the compressor, it’s usually a comp block I’ve tweaked to sound similar to my wampler ego comp. The intensity and squish are about 12:30-1:00 and the mix is usually 55-60% and the attack is around 2:30-3:00. It’s subtle enough that I can leave it on with gain but not so squashed that I hear and feel it all the time.

    Hi Michael, big fan here! :) I have a conceptual question. I've always tried to use my Kempers as actual 'amp and stomps' replacement, so my performances almost always feature profiles from the same amp. Okay, maybe sometimes there are one or two slots with profiles of a different amp for clean tones, but that's it. I've never liked a mixture of several amps in a single performance. However, listening to the Player Pack demo, I could change my mind. It's a really good job of mixing different amps into a single bank, retaining their feel, and at the same time, making them usable as if they would come from a single amp. Can't wait for my Player to arrive; this pack will probably be the only one I'll use (okay, until the next one comes from you, LOL). Keep doing a great job!

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for writing. Since my bread and butter is playing live shows with Lonestar, I always make the ability to switch between profiles of different amps a big priority. That's the biggest reason I choose to profile most amps with the same cab and mic setup. That way the variable is the amp itself and not the amp, the speaker, the mics, etc. That does give the flavors of the different amps but doesn't make the tonal shifts so extreme that it takes a while for your ears (and the audiences and soundman) to catch up. It seems to work well for me so I keep doing it. You can always pull in cabs or IRs to make it sound different or like a different cab if you choose later.

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think the point of this pack is to have stage-ready tones as opposed to just the amp sound. That’s why I have the compressor block on. It’s still relatively subtle with the mix around halfway but I was trying to demonstrate the whole sound, not just the amp portion. Thanks though. I’ll keep that in mind.

    Hey, these sound great man, are they liquid profiles?

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Some are liquid profiles but some were made prior to LP becoming available. Plus, there are some (like the matchless) that I just think benefit greatly from having the generic eq midrange up a bump. Whatever works for the profile is what I go for.

      @lonegtr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Any previous rigs will work but it doesn’t pull in all of the fx slots. And if you used one of the fx not included in the player then it will replace that with something it has.

    Are this profiles liquid ?

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      8 of the 25 are liquid. Some were profiled as liquid and some were converted. Liquid is great but only 100% authentic if you're using the same amp and many of these don't have an identical tone stack. In those cases, I just trust my ears to tell what I like best, the generic eq or the liquid tone stack.

    A Noob Question. If you want more effects can you just use pedals in front or through loop?

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There isn't a loop on the KPP but it's made small to fit on pedalboards with other pedals, so you can save the Kemper fx for things you don't have other stomps for.

  • @ashtweth

    Is there ANY way to tell which ones were profiled for single coil and humbucker?

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I try to profile for the "middle ground" so the profiles should work for both types of pickups. I tend to prefer lower output humbuckers and hotter single coils, so that's the middle ground I'm referring to. If you use vintage single coils or super hot humbuckers you should just have to adjust the settings as you would any amp.

    Bought this pack, played with 4 guitars and doesn.t match your sound. Your demo is "crystal clear". In yr demo, all the tones has the right amount of distorsion, my pack NO. My KPP straight through the Antelope interface, mono...Am i doin somethin wrong?

    • @lonegtr
      @lonegtr  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What guitars/pickups were you using? Also, there may be a setting that needs to be adjusted with your interface? I just recorded the XLR out of the KPP into my Apollo 8 interface input and adjusted the level so it wasn't clipping on the Apollo. Without seeing and hearing what you are hearing, it's a little difficult to troubleshoot.
