a lot of people don't understand the complexity of FM, what is logical to us in the game, the match engine interprets differently, for example if you play with two strikers, maybe they won't score goals at all. An example of such illogicality is the team I lead Sunderland and is fighting for promotion to the premier league!! This video shows how to choose a team and formation, and with all that, maybe it won't work properly, why? An example from practice, my team has players who have a relatively good pass, but in order to have possession they must have a short pass.. a short pass is the simplest form of passing the ball.

What would have been really good for understanding is rather than setting up a high press 4231 with a premier league side - what would you do in non league with 15 players? That would have been a bit more insightful 👍

Could have shown it getting a run out. That'd be a good thing to add going forward

Some great tips and pointers but i do agree it would be helpful to be shown how it plays in the match engine, we all have ideas how we want to play but it working how we want in game is another story

@@user-qe7ib8qh3h thats my problem, i spend ages coming up with a logical, balanced tactic that I think plays to our strengths and covers out weaknesses but then when it comes to the match it doesnt quite work out. im doing a 5-3-2 with wigan and ive won 8 of 5 games so far which is good, but im still not fully sold on it

Yes setting all up without showing how it is working that is bad. Should ran some matches and show us how it works in games.

4-2-3-1 for attack football and 4-3-2-1 for counter attack against top clubs, apply with mixing of klopp pressure system if defending and total football if attacking

Thanks for the video! A common thing i see about FM23 is that the CPU starts to "learn" about your tactic, so I've seen people recommend having 3 different versions of your tactic. What kind of changes do you make to make a different "version" of a tactic?

      I think an attack tactic
      And defensive and possession

I always sign Ward Prowse when Southampton relegate, the dude is one of the best midfielders you can get, a leader with absolutely perfect set piece taking and 20 Natural Fitness, he can play until hes 40.

if you're a "weaker side" by having 3 at the back you'd be more vulnerable. and If you're a "stronger side" d'on't play with 3 at the back because why waste it on a CB when you can have it as a CM/AM cause you'd be dominating most games . I'm kinda confused on when is 3 at the back more effective cause i've never played it.

    • @markmorris7123
      @markmorris7123 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Having three at the back means you can cover the wings without actually playing wingers, because your wing backs are naturally pushed up..However your defenders need to be able to pass and your wing backs need to be fit..Glenn Hoddles England use to use a 3 5 2..I think venables did too

    • @ahmedmiladi9362

@@markmorris7123 So it's not about whether or not your team is strong compared to the competition. It only depends on whether or not you have the right players for it.

    • @markmorris7123

      @@ahmedmiladi9362 Exactly..Argentina often use a 3 5 2..one of the best Argentina teams of all time played 3 5 2...The 1986 team starting Maradona. 3 5 2 is primarily a flexible, possession based formation.

3atb is good for defensive formations, but you do have to absorb more pressure

Less bodies in the midfield. Less attacking impetus. Probably lol

    • @ParetoEmperor-jp6ke

because naturally its flat formations, and have gaps between wide defenders and wingbacks, its more suited for counter attack lower line engagement formations or more defensive / park the bus formations, its naturally created very tight space to move for opponent who has advantages than you or us if setup like i told that so
