fun fact! guillotines were the least painful way to be executed because death was near instant. thats why it was so common for rich nobles to be killed that way, rather than an execution that would cause them to suffer (because they were rich, not out of respect or anything)

Honestly, any beheading was the most painless way to be executed. Henry VIII even specified for Anne Boleyn to be executed by French Sword, despite the usual punishment for treason being a hanging or burning. (Though she didn't actually commit any crime as far as we know in history and Henry just wanted a reason to divorce her and marry his then-mistress Jane Seymour after Anne Boleyn had a handful of miscarriages. Its assumed by some historians that this is why he asked for her to be executed by French swordsmanship specifically.)

No but 59:19 seeing those bloody footprints leading from the well past the bodies and out of the room is the first time I've genuinely felt dread while watching a horror island tour.
I don't know the island lore but it seems like this house is a temple for some kind of demonic entity. A group of people decided to summon it, and when it came from the well it took three sacrifices. Not even to consume, simply to kill them. And it wasn't frenzied killing, they've been cleanly beheaded. And now it's continuing on.
It took me ages to parse out what's on the paper but the katakana from that olding cell room translates to
"Koroshite kudasai" which means "please kill me" in Japanese. In case ya wanted to make this any scarier than it already was :V

Duck girl is definitely a Kappa, a Japanese river monster. Fun fact, Kapp’n from the older Animal Crossing games is based on that monster! They love cucumbers, which is why he was always singing about them.

hey amanda! i have adhd, and originally i found it really hard to meditate. what i do now is i have the calm app, and every day they give you a "daily calm", its a quick 10-15 min meditation that focuses on something different every day (todays one is called trick or treat!). i listen to one every day when im in bed before i sleep, and it relaxes me so much that i go to sleep instantly (i used to really struggle sleeping and stayed awake for hours). its amazing, i would highly recommend the app, it has stories and monologues too if you dont always want meditation. it honestly changed my life and its definitely worth it.
NH Aika wasn't scary. It was confusing. There was 4 stories going on at once and you got lost pretty easily.

It took me a minute to realize that the residents of the island are dressed up like youkai and Japanese urban legends! The duck lady is a kappa. I think the doll is modeled after the doll with the ever-growing hair, Okiku. And the wolf is probably a kitsune. I don't know about the one with the blood on her back.

The reason you probably forgot Maggie is because she was a villager that was brought back in the Welcome Amiibo update for New Leaf, which brought back a bunch of Villagers that were only in the original game and never made it to the other series until that Update. And obviously they were brought to New Horizons too.
I had a really vivid dream that felt like someone else's life recently too. I was a man (irl I'm very much not) and I'd somehow got trapped into marrying this woman, and it was a really bad situation safety-wise for me. Long story short I was supposed to be moving into her home to live with her and her family, but even while carrying my luggage I knew I had to escape. Her mum caught me the first time I tried, and when I tried a second time her dad had just spotted me and I woke up. In the dream, I felt like if I stayed and ended up marrying her I'd never be able to see my loved ones again or go outside freely. If this was someone else's life I really hope he got out okay.

Also I have Gaston he’s sweet, like grandpa who lives in a neglected and rundown house sweet, and is desperate for company and people who care. He calls people kiddo and appreciates actual furniture since he lives in a rundown shake. He hasn’t mentioned a backwater clinic to me though.

Also the bad thing about dreaming about different people's lives is that you kinda gain the experience and trauma but not a 'real' experience to show for it 😔. I hope I'm making any sense but tl:dr I totally understand dreaming and having the overrealistic imagination

Ive had vivid, violent dreams for about 20 years now. Had to be medicated at one point because every night ive have to scream to wake myself up and id be crying and a mess. It was super realistic, to the point I'd wake up to the smell of burning flesh, not that ive ever smelt it in real life but i knew thats what it was. All realistic and human stuff. All too brutal and vivid to explain. And i remember them so intensely even after years and years. Thankfully i don't have them every night now but randomly one a month or two generally. Still sucks but its easier to handle than every night
I've been hunting for Lucky for the past few days and found so many good villagers: Kyle, Chief, Whitney, Zell, Drago, Merengue, and I passed on all of them and STILL can't find my little mummy dog boy.

meditation is sooo haarrd esp. as someone else with ADHD but we all need those moments to truly feel the world around us, and the environment in its stillness. if we always move hurried and work towards our goals mindlessly, it might all fly by pointless. try to just accept laziness, nothingness, and just your entire being when you meditate. just sit down and put your hand to your heart and feel it pumping! try to feel the heartbeat in your finger tips too. feel the sun on your skin, etc. maybe do some stretches while meditating, if you can't sit still. good luck

About the Maggie thing- I literally had her like a couple months ago (maybe a year ago Idk I forgot lol) in the early stages of my island, she was alright and I honestly thought she was super cute. Maybe you can try yoga for meditation? There are lots of great videos on TH-cam. When you’re focusing on following directions o. where to put your body or keeping balance, those moments where they tell you to breathe you’re focused very in the moment.

When it comes to meditation one of the best things to remember is that it is about brining awareness to your thoughts and body, and as someone who is hyperaware of that already, it doesn't really help to be still. I imagine that having ADD would impact the sitting still aspect. So to combat that, I would recommend doing something repetitive that you don't have to think about. For me, that is knitting. That way, you aren't hyperaware of how much you want to be moving or as distracted because you have pent up energy. Meditation and awareness doesn't have to be still.

amanda if you ever wanna watch a good horror/psychological anime, i recommend the 2006 anime, higurashi no naku koro ni ("when the cicadas cry" in english)!!
the anime is separated into different arcs where the characters basically keep reliving the same events and they die in the most batshit crazy ways. it starts to become this fun (for lack of better words lol) way of piecing the story together and figuring out why the characters keep dying.

Regarding dreams (because it was talked about it a bit in the video) i have a lot of nightmares and they're pretty awful, but one i had a couple months ago I still remember pretty well. In it i had been kidnapped and trapped in someone's basement. It was the kind of basement where you could look up under the house, and I saw my family and friends going there to talk to my kidnapper about how I'd been missing since he lived near us, and I just watched it because I couldnt do anything or he would kill them in front of me. He tortured me and broke my phone so I had no contact at all, but I did escape in the end. I managed to get out when he was distracted. His house had a field in the back, and I ran through that, and he chased me. I escaped him by barely a metre, but I woke up before it finished. I still think about it because it was one of the most real feeling dreams I've ever had.
