The 'lessons des Tenebres" mean in fact readings; 'leçons" is a wrong translation of 'lectiones', which means 'readings'. During the Holy Week, there were very long Offices, called 'Offices des>Ténèbres'. They were divideed in three " 'nocturnes', with three 'reading' in each one. During the first Nocturn, the reding were devoted to the laments of Jeremiah about the des truction of the Temple of Jeusalem, an anology for the death of Christ. ' It became a tradition for baroque French composers to put these 'leçons' in Music. Here, we have the third 'leçon' of the hly Wednesday night by Couperin, who is concidered to have written the most moving 'leçon des Ténèbres" among his contemoraries. They are written for two female voices (they were sung by the nuns of Abbaye of Longchamp) and continuo.

Il me semble que la diction soit la bonne, dans cette version ou on entend des "ousses" et non pas des "usses".
