    It is so close to the original one that it doesn't even sound like a remix! Man, I'm surprised! I said this a lot of times, but I'll say it again: great work!

    Sounds like something you'd hear in R-Type, I can't be alone on this

    Can’t believe its been over 4 years since I’ve been listening to this. One thing that makes me love this remix is that it sounds like something from an smw hack.

    This particular track always reminds me of racing on Luigi Raceway in Mario Kart 64.

    Finally, a cross over between Sonic CD and CPS-2 sound! Apparently, Sonic CD also used Q Sound like the CPS-2 Sound Chips, so in a way this is very fitting for the compositions.

      I think the US soundtrack used q sound. Not sure about the original JP one though.

      The past songs are all on a sample chip in the Sega CD which is 8 channel PCM based. Basically the same as the SNES chip but without echo and reverb.

    • @jaybinx2242
      @jaybinx2242 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the replies! I realize that the past tracks used PCM and if I recall correctly, the future and present tracks used Redbook audio (possibly both US and Euro/JP soundtracks, I am unsure about this recollection).
      On a side note, nice work Renegade. I really enjoy your Megaman Genesis tracks as well!

      @@jaybinx2242 yes, you are correct. Both US and JP/EU soundtracks use Redbook audio. As for sound effects, based on my research in Foobar, all channels are used in the PCM chip for the past soundtrack, so my guess is all but 1 or 2 (Sonic's voice when getting a 1 up, and maybe the jingle when you destroy the animal transporter) use the 2612 for sound effects. I could be wrong though.

    Very nice, although I think this remix sounds more like it was made using SPC700 samples instead of CPS2 samples to me. I also didn't expect this remix to be nearly 10 minutes long. Keep up the good work.

    • @TheLegendofRenegade
      @TheLegendofRenegade  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These samples are way to high quality to be coming out of a SNES lol

    • @Loader2K1
      @Loader2K1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheLegendofRenegade: Well, to me, some Capcom game soundtracks on the Super NES did sound like they were trying their hardest to emulate the CPS2 sound (i.e., UN Squadron, Mega Man X2 and X3, and X-Men: Mutant Apocalyspe).

    • @TheLegendofRenegade
      @TheLegendofRenegade  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well alot of them were actually the same samples , just compressed as hell and shortened, to fit on the SNES capabilities.
      Megaman x1 distorted guitar sample for example, is actually also used in marvel super heroes vs Street fighter in bisons theme (but not compressed)
