That m950 drivetrain is the best of all time in my opinion. Set mine up to be 1x and it’s a perfect shift every single time. Great build!!

"This was the pinnacle of awesome bikes back in the day." I think the Pinnacle was an earlier model.. 😁 Love the vid and this has to be my fav bike you've had on yet.. Those "after" shots were just magic.

Nice build brings back memories of when I worked in a Bike shop back in 03-04. Kleins were like the holy grail of bikes back in the day. I just finished up a 2011 Niner One 9 rigid build retro mod style. Always enjoy your channel.

    1:11 this speaks to me.
Always enjoy your builds and videos. It’s amazing how your work brings me back to me teenage years where I could hardly afford to drool over these bikes. Such good times riding with my friends. Still have my old Univega that I hope my boy will ride when he’s big enough.

Those first gen SID’s are some of the best looking forks in my opinion, don’t like the dust boots on them though. However they weren’t around in ‘89 I believe they were launched in ‘98.
That aside the Klein attitude is one of the most iconic bikes from back in the early days of mtb.
    Great video 🫡

Klein is still one of my favorite brands also, the frame esthetics and colorways are awesome. I hope to find myself a clean Klein Mantra URT frame to build. I know URT's aren't the best design when it comes to full suspension, but I rode a 1998 Barracuda XC URT for 10 yrs. Matter of fact, I still own it and just "finished" building it up as a sort of "softtail" gravel bike with a suspension correct rigid fork.

Yep. That generation of XTR is hard to beat. Stunning bike. LOVE your bike content. Me aged 70..after 40 years Vegetarian, following health issue in Feb 23 started Keto…now moving towards full Carnivore. Am lean, plenty of energy, ride daily and being fat adapted- ketones for fuel can ride 160km with no sugar or carb. intake. Feel very much to be on a journey of discovery..very liberating also, can walk through a Supermarket and 99% of the ‘food’ on sale I would not eat!!!

When I was around 14 a local outdoors retailer had two of these in their window. This same bike and a matching orange/pink fade. Me and my riding buddy would stand for an age in slack jawed wonder (slavering down the glass) . My friend later bought a more affordable klein. Wonderful bikes. ❤❤❤

Those original SIDs are amazing shocks, super-light and about the perfect travel for fast gravel rides. You can also swap parts with the SID race titaniums that came out a year or two later, so you could instill a lockout if you want to fully blitz the climbs. Also, yours has the option to run a disc, which is what I've done with mine.

Definitely a drool worthy ride from the 90's I had a frame kit - frame, rigid fork and mission control bar/stem combo in moonrise linear fade. Never quite got that build finished, fell on hard times and had to sell it. :(

Given the absence of a rear canti hanger and M950 groupset, it looks like a ‘96. Absolutely stunning. At 22 lbs with a long travel fork that’s ridiculously light. Is this one going to hold a permanent place in the the personal collection?

I have owned many of those later gen attitudes 96 on forward, they have many problems, They look nice and are light weight, but they almost always have deformed bb shells, as well as dents, as well as water bottle boss problems. But they look nice, and are light weight and handle great.

I see no restoration here, just ordinary cleaning without even proper fork or wheel service, especially with wd-40 cleaning brake arms approach. I'm not sure it's safe to leave any slick layer on pad mounts.. You can even hear sand cracking in some installation moments. Most of all this video seems to be done as a base for multiple product placements, this made me first time to dislike OS vid.
