    Thank you for sharing your experience with Communauto. I have a question about Flex cars. Will the application warn me if I am about to leave the car outside of the Flex zone?

    • @andriyasredel
      @andriyasredel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, there and thanks for watching!
      Yes, the application is going to warn you if you are dropping off your FLEX vehicle outside FLEX drop-off points. According to Communauto's rules - "unless the vehicle is brought to a FLEX drop-off point, the Member is not allowed to end their trip outside the FLEX Zone."
      Here is also a useful guide of where you can drop-off your FLEX vehicle - toronto.communauto.com/flex-parking-guide/#:~:text=Look%20for%20parking%20on%20a,a%20maximum%20of%20three%20hours.
      I hope that helps! :)

    I think it's important to note that you are committed to 12 months for any subscription package that lowers your cost a little bit. So while you claim it only cost you $18.33, it will cost you another $55+ even if you never use another car again. Currently, as of today Dec 10, 2024 that same trip on the Open (free) plan would have cost $25.33. Better to just keep and use it 24 hours for another $31.52 ($56.85)

    • @andriyasredel
      @andriyasredel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, why would you say "never use another car again"? I don't think I would have committed to a 12-month term, unless I was confident that I will be using their vehicles quiet frequently, no? Since that video has been made, I took more than 20 trips so I think paying $5/month for a plan to get $6.95/hour vs $15.25/hour is worth it. You also get to save on FLEX vehicles.
      Also, it doesn't quiet make sense to only go for a free membership and keep a vehicle for 24 hours. Unless you know that you need that vehicle for 24 hours, then sure. But in that case, it was a quick errand and something that Communauto is perfect for. I also don't have a space to park it.

    • @tryink688
      @tryink688 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It may very very work in those scenarios. I'm just saying you didn't point that out. That there was an ongoing monthly commitment. In other words you made it look like it would only cost someone $18.83.

    • @andriyasredel
      @andriyasredel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tryink688 Ah, I see what you mean. However, at 10:19 I say - "Now, there's a small caveat to this. In order for me to get access to a cheaper hourly rate, and I pay $6.75/hour, I'm subscribed to their Open Plus Plan and that costs $5/month".
      But I now see that I should have mentioned that it's indeed a yearly commitment!

    What about insurance? Who is responsible for car damage if there is an accident?

    • @andriyasredel
      @andriyasredel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question!
      When you join, you are asked to select what Damage Protection Plan you’d like to enroll in, which will determine the maximum Damage Fee you will have to pay in case of a collision or damage to a vehicle. It can be either $0, $300, or $600 per event. In Canada, in the case of a collision, the Damage Fee is billed regardless of whether you are at fault or not.
      If you have your own insurance or perhaps it's offered through your credit card, then you can decline coverage. However, make sure that the protection offered is sufficient to cover all possible damage costs. Otherwise, you will be responsible for damage's full value.

      I would suggest, if you want to just try them out, then go for a Free Membership plan. You don't have to subscribe to anything but will still be eligible to rent their cars. If you like the whole experience, then I would suggest to subscribe to one of their higher plans (such as Open Plus or Value) where you are going to get a much cheaper hourly rate!

    Can we take flex or round trip cars out of Toronto or GTA and bring them back?

    • @andriyasredel
      @andriyasredel  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're not really limited in that sense! Just make sure to return the round-trip car on time. And as far as I know, FLEX offers unlimited time. Just remember that in both cases you'll also be charged for the distance you travel with the vehicle 🙂
