    This is the first time i have seen one of your videos and I think I have fallen in love!
    In the past I have come across so many videos that are really just product placements for inks, stamps, stencils etc. The makers create work they are happy with but the to me they look faux rather than genuine. I knew it was not the direction I wanted to go but I had no idea how to move towards what I do want. I feel like you have opened up a whole new way of looking for me.
    I'm an old woman who is just beginning to discover my creativity in retirement. Thank you. I know you are going to influence the next stage in my journey. You are a great creator and teacher.

    this is a brilliant way of making beautiful and interesting magazine snippets "our own" to integrate them smoothly into our art or junk journaling - by getting rid of their glossiness and transforming them into grungy unique pieces of art. i loooove that.
    thanks so much for sharing! got a ton of magazine images i started to collect when i was a teen and couldn't quite make them work in combination with the more vintage related styles i tend to lean to in my paper-projects ...
    now there's a bright (or rather grungy) future lying ahead of them; )

    Seems that you've come up with a new cool way to collage; involving using other peoples art to create new pieces. I guess a lot of the process is about making the piece look more uniform and includes integrating the different parts together using scraping, glazing etc. Just like collaging. And repurposing old magazines, materials is great. And we normally toss out all kinds of printed material that could be used as well, ads and brochures etc that sometimes have cool art.

    Thanks so much - loved the techniques! I'm a newbie to all this stuff; you probably already answered this in other videos, but I'm wondering why you use the plaster of Paris mixed in with gesso and matte medium? Does the coffee stain not get soaked up enough if it's just gesso ? And why espresso baking powder? Why not just instant coffee dissolved in water?

  • @tanyas.3812
    @tanyas.3812 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I love this! I was thinking that it might be quicker and easier to use a large stick glue, rather than picking up the gel medium jar and the brush, and squiggling the brush around, then returning the brush to the jar or the palette, then moving the paper around seems like the hard way to do it. See what I mean at Roxy Creations channel on You Tube. Unless the Matt Medium is really needed for some reason. I really like your approach and the effects your getting. Bravo!

    I just have a quick question for somebody that could possibly answer is the reason to do a lot of the techniques to cover up the existing magazine page or image or writing is it due to copyright purposes or is it just to get a more distorted look if someone can please answer I would really appreciate it thank you

    • @aimeebishop9851
      @aimeebishop9851  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say yes to both of those reasons. I love the look of very weathered and wore papers. if you are just journaling for yourself and not to sell the pieces you don’t really need to worry about copyright.

    • @fleurtalbot7596
      @fleurtalbot7596 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aimeebishop9851 You actually can sell your work incorporating magazine images if you use only 1/3 of the original image and/or distort it enough to a point where it would not be recognizable as the work of its originator.
