    What great ideas. I would be so hesitant to do these techniques with family photos, even extra prints of grandma or something, but is fun to try with these anonymous fun photos. I like your choice of happy and silly faces.

    Hi. The photo of the boy with the white edge is how photos were printed in the 50s. I have them from my dad who used to print them.

    I discovered that satin glaze medium from golden works on real photos. The prints I seem to have to use paint to help it alone-stand out.

    I always wondered how the mediums worked so this was very cool!! So many amazing ideas as well! Thanx so much for sharing with us!! Maybe someday u can do a vid w all the different mediums because I never know which to buy because I don't know want they do. Like there's the translucent n several others. There's like a snowflake one or something. I haven't bought any yet because I have no idea what they do n I cannot afford them all!!! Just an idea!!! Thanx again!!! ✌🏼🧡

    Hun you can use a little water to bring your ink back to life. I do that too.

      I like to use the media surface mat for wet techniques and the glas media mat for everything else. both are from tonic studios & Tim Holtz

    Hello Luise!!! This post was so informative, explaining the difference between Translucent Crackle Paint and Collage Crazing Medium. I'm not sure exactly why the difference was made between them, if they both provide a cracked surface. Unless is it that the paint is glossy and the medium is matte? I love the way you have applied the materials to the photographs and I agree that they should combine with the existing image to contribute to the story that the content reveals.     spray your distress ink pad to get more out of it. It will not hurt it.

    with the ink jet prints, how do you stop it from bleeding/smudging when you put water on it ?

      I use matt photo paper to print, then you can use wet mediums on those prints
