My god, 40 years later and it still boggles the mind. Luke at 23 or 24 was still a “prodigy,” and his talent was spewing so over the top. My god. Pocaro on Drums. Fantastic. Mathieson on Prophet 5 and the Hammond Organ with the whirling Leslie speakers. I saw them at the Baked Potato probably about ten to twenty times. Listening now so many years later confirms my feelings at the time that I was seeing and hearing something magical. I remember how my ears were still ringing on into the next day, but god it was worth it.
I had no idea they released a record of this performance until today. I was there and made a bootleg cassette tape which I was digitizing this morning when I googled how to spell Mathieson and found out about the record. I will have to post the bootleg so you can hear the raw sound inside the Baked Potato
This is insane. Lukather is a fire breathing dragon! He has always had this abstract ferocity to his playing. He always means business.

Good Grief!!! Too bad there was not much in the way of video - I'd have loved to have seen these guys performing this.
