Still waiting for you guys to emboss the leather straps on the kilt. Beautiful Celtic designs would be awesome. And, a rich dark brown leather strap, still waiting for that!
I never use the belt loops for my sporran, it's easier to put on and take off for bathroom breaks or to slide off to the side. I wear suspenders (braces) instead of a belt, I busted 2 belts with my fat gut then I found out the belt is not supposed to be used to hold the kilt on, it's just for show. I have since lost 40lbs and most of my fat belly is gone but now most of my kilts are too big for me, I still have some that will always fit( great kilts).
I appreciate your comment more than you know, my kilt belt is odd. It was cheap and it's really wonky. I dont wear it because of this. So I always try to cover the fact I dont have a belt on a casual kilt with a jacket or vest. I have suspenders and now I think I'm gunna wear suspenders instead of a belt. Thank you.
Velcro on the kilts really really sucks on all the kilts I’ve ever used. Note: I’ve never worn one of yours. But on the Utilikilts is suuuuuuuuccckkkkkssss.
2 of my kilts has velcro( one home made ( cause i miss read that store information on meseureing ( tough that it was the middle size but it was the smallest size and it was abit loosen not that much so a person i knew sew a velcro on it , i put the strap in the belt look and so it doesnt show up , (lucky me that kilt had only 2 strap one each side) the 2nd was made like that(sadly both arent form usa kilt ( didnt bough any usa kilt product yet ( i want to but lately money wise i cant afford it) i wouldnt care to get a pv kilt if the tartan i chose when i buy it is avalaible , but i need to count the money exachnge(canadian), and the inport fee
I've been told off about using the loops for my belt. They told me the loops are for the sporin not the belt and I sould wear the belt over the loops because sticking the belt and the sporin through the same loops crowds the loops and then you have to fiddle with all your stuff to take the kilt on and off. Which did make sense to me because then you can just take the belt off and all you have to fiddle with is the sporin. What's your opinion.
Rocky and Eric actually covered this in a prior video. The sporran chain can be routed several ways. One is outside the loops, but the danger is that it could fall off your body if you have a slender build. The other way is the use the back loop only or the back loop and the back side loops (if that makes sense). This way you can move the sporran to the side if you need to (for running, or to get it out of the way when sitting, for example). Ultimately, how you do it is up to you, and no one should be telling you off! Cheers!
Forgot to mention about the belt. You can wear it in the loops (that's why they're wide!) or on top of the loops, or not at all, as with a waistcoat (vest) or a formal Prince Charlie kit. Essentially, the belt is an accessory, not a required part of the kit. It's bling, your chance to wear a nice bit of artwork and jewelry. Again, it's nobody's business buy yours how you wear it.
😕 what’s an extra $10 for some thin straps and buckles?? And I’m sure you make your own straps... my kiltmaker/ mentor does his own leatherwork and you’re a big outfit
at first i was like velcro? but i have 4 casuals now and i love the velcro. you can dial it in perfect

We do emboss the leather straps on our wool kilts. 🙂
Would love to see an option to add kilt buckles on the casual kilts
Tony D. The semi-traditional is just that
My utility kilt has velcro with snap and buckles and strap

The thing for me is Verco wears out so fast that would be my first concern. If there was a Velcro that truly never wore out I'd be more interested.
