    Working as a flight nurse provides a special opportunity to fly our 1967 Piper Comanche 260b and land where we work. My wife and I are both flight nurses working at the same airport for Competing companies. This allows us to a rare opportunity to commute via air during clear weather mornings!

      Thanks Matt! It’s been a long road to get her where she is today. She was the personal airplane of the chief pilot for Chick-fil-A. and ken took great care of her. We keep her well lubricated and dust free in a dry hanger! BTW, any money or endorsement we get from this channel goes to help rescue dogs. So hit that bell. Thanks for watching!!!!

    Good advice as you left the runway.

    Yes those screws will back out far enough to jam up the stabiliator.

    I'm not a pilot, but I'm an old fart toying with the idea of attempting to become one. This video popped up in my feed so I decided to watch it. As soon as you gave you advice at the end I subscribed. The world would be a much better place if everyone followed that advice. And then I read your About page. The world would be even better if people would take as much care of dogs as they would like to take care of us. My wife asked me one day what I thought about getting a dog. I didn't. Like most answers a husband gives his wife, I was wrong. We now have three dogs, and I can't imagine life without them.

      Hey Tom! Thanks for watching! If you are ever in Norther California I’ll take you for a free ride for a burger! Flying has allowed us to influence many people. I made that comment at the end bc I didn’t think anyone would watch the video for that long! Hahah.
      My hope is to keep making these videos and any money we collect from TH-cam or donations we plan to give to the Baja dog rescue foundation and other rescue foundations like them.
      We both work 24 hr shifts and are unable to foster but if one of us had a “normal” job, I would foster dogs. We have 3 rescues now and that’s why I’m not allowed (by my wife) to go to the shelter anymore. Lol!

      Tom, highly recommend you take a discovery flight and decide if it’s for you. You have options as far as what type of Certificate and the type of flying you want. It is a very small club of a bunch of nice people and the sense of accomplishment you will get completing that bucket list can not be described. Good luck and keep us posted. Mike.

    beautiful flight and views. makes it worth it don't it? little sloppy in the pattern but hey, who cares, right.

      Hands down ANY DAY! Fuel cost nearly the same as driving. As far as the pattern goes, I like to practice the 45 degree to the numbers to avoid runway incursions at airports with parallel runways. Sometimes it gets boring flying the box pattern. Haha. Thanks for watching and the comment! My brother is a “WestTexan” out of Lubbock. He owns Raider Aviation flight school. Take care!

    Much more relaxing and enjoyable regardless of the close timing. Not sure about your shift schedule but heading home might be worse?

    • @askmehowiknow3571
      @askmehowiknow3571  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, flying home after a long shift could cause mistakes to happen for sure! Its one of the reasons I don’t do it too often. It’s about. 20-30 min flight but the drive can take about 2 hrs. Some days the drive home is pretty brutal too. Thanks for watching!

      Yah, I suppose I didn’t think so much about stress and fatigue vs traffic. I’m retired from the FD so I can appreciate the fatigue from the job. I didn’t start flying until I retired. Just hate the traffic 😳. Did my PPL check ride at Calaveras in tailwheel.

      @@dozermedic18 I hear ya! I spent 15 years in SoCal, traffic was a big reason we moved to NorCal! Getting your PPL in a tail dragged is crazy and Calaveras is not an easy airport! I can barely fly the Comanche after 550 hrs. Lol!
