The classic Mercedes Sprinter was produced in Russia between 2013 - 2018 and the only engine offered was the OM646 turbodiesel engine producing 109 hp and 136 hp covering EURO-4. The average monthly salary in Russia is around $800 and since the emission standards in Russia are a lot lower compared to the other countries, so it wasn't a problem the van being produced there.

The whole Europe is scattered with those Sprinters. The Russian built ones between 2013-2018 were only offered with OM646 engine.
