- It's been 945 days since Lewis Hamilton last won a Grand Prix and today, in his home race, he benefitted from some brilliant racing to get back on top of the podium beating Max Verstappen and Lando Norris across the line. With the victory Hamilton also won his ninth race at Silverstone becoming the leader in most races won at a single Formula 1 track in history.

You can’t fake that emotion. That was for 2021, for only allowing lapped cars between Lewis and Max go through, for stealing what was rightfully his. He’s had to wait 3 years to get back on the top step where he belongs. He is the true, authentic champion and the GOAT of the sport. Congrats Sir Lewis!

I was literally crying while watching this live.. Never cried in a sport before. AB21 was the most painful sporting event that I've experience.. and to see him win like this.. it just brings a different kind of emotion out of me. I love Lewis and what he stands for. He deserves this so much.. With that being said, I think that the fans like me also deserve this sweet and hard-earned victory.. It's very sweet..

Same here mate! Literal tears flowing watching live those last few laps and Verstappen charging was edge of your seat. Only other time tears flowed was when I saw Tiger win the 2019 Masters 5 years ago,

I was in tears when Lewis crossed the line. Carrying all that pain from 2021 would crushed any one, but he kept pulling himself up. What an inspiring moment. They may have stolen the championship, but they can't steal his spirit. What an awesome champion his is.

This has to be spoken about more widely. This among so many other aspects of his career is phenomenal. He turned up every day and every race.
He’s the first driver to win nine grands prix at the same event, surpassing Michael Schumacher’s eight in France.
He’s the first driver to win a race after starting his 300th grand prix - this was his 344th - breaking the so-called 300-club curse that’s seen champions Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Schumacher and Jenson Button as well as Rubens Barrichello fail to add to their victory tallies after clocking up their triple centuries.
He is a decoration to the sport. Ready to smile, ready to laugh, ready to compliment and recognise others. Lewis is one of the greatest, mentally strong sportsmen ever.

I’m the same exact age as Lewis. I’m a big fan. I’ve been following his career since his rookie P2 2007 season. I finally got to see him race last year at the Vegas GP. I know it’s been a rough 2-3 years for Mercedes, but I’m so happy he’s able to get a win or hopefully more before the end of his Mercedes career. 44 🐐

I thought Lewis announcing his departure from Mercedes so far in advance of his move was a strange move, and worried that it might make for a difficult dynamic with the team. It’s so refreshing to see the mutual respect and professionalism they have for each other and the fact that this is a mutually happy ending to an unbelievably successful period for both parties.
A true pleasure to see how much they love him and how much he loves them, and a testament to the character, talent and dedication on both sides.
