This explains a lot, thankyou. I was wondering why my games felt somewhat devoid of quality life despite having many leagues loaded. Truth be told, I've always known that the detail level existed, and most of what it does..... but, when setting up a new game, it's a buried option within the in-game menu and thus is very easily forgettable. I imagine most people will start a new game, state what leagues to load, and then go straight to playing, either never knowing abou the detail level option or, as is my case, forgetting about it altogether.
I started my first long term save from Serie D in italy and i found out about detail level just now after 4 seasons😅 Can i change the database now or should i just move on to another save? I don't want to lose all my progress😢
Great video, gonna double check if I've got my main save setup right - I'd already messed up with Belgium earlier cuz I had an affiliate club there, but it wasn't playable initially 😅
I'm doing a full Asian save, so I have all 9 countries under 'Asia'. I decided to add South Africa as well, because it was a lone country under 'Africa'.
I use a 3rd generation lenovo thinkpad x1 yoga laptop with 4 cores. Please what's the best way to set up a save in regards to selecting leagues and detail level?
Try 2 nations playable. Add a a few only nations as view only. Then in detail level, choose the competitions you want running in full detail. Make your league and 2 leagues run on full detail. Set international completions to full detail. Then run the game. We are compromising here, because I think your CPU might struggle to give you a realistic and accurate experience. On my 2015 laptop I usually only ever run 1 league as playable and I don’t enjoy it very much cos I know what the quality of newgens is gonna look like from the view only leagues.
Generally you always pick the 10 based on FIFA ranking for that year but most of us want 5 star wonderkids too, so we normally take top 5 nations like @fp0119 suggested and then add in those nations we like to see pop out wonderkids.
@@BusttheNetyes I do by FiFa ranking too . The ones playable inside the top20. And I've had learned with daveincid too how to setup . This video is important. Ill Share it with my friends. They asked me why on my save the wonderkids get so good 😂
A video that tells the viewer nothing, shows the benefits of the lack of information ans starts with I’m not going to show you xyz….ie the actual important bits.

The details level of U18 and U21 make a big difference in youth development.

Didn't evidenced based FM investigate this and find development was better for players loaned to grey/no detail leagues?
Thank you so much for this video.
You are so welcome!
This explains why the save I had recently in 2044 had terrible youth development!
Great video❤
Glad you liked it!
I have a good computer, however when I increase the level of detail there is a noticeable increase in the consumption of the microprocessor.
Simulations are done via the cpu for FM. It is a CPU intensive game as it uses all your cores.

Thank you very much for this. But what about Database size? Do I set up the continents in the custom datbase size just as you did in this video?
we can only setup 10 nations on console which 10 would you suggest if im playing say liverpool
Top 5 nations (England, France, Italy, Germany, Spain)
Argentina + Brazil
3 other good European nations (Portugal, Netherlands, etc.)

If you change the detail level from full to none for example, does it change on a daily basis or do the changes only come in place a bit later?
That change will happen the next time it processes the game. So it happens when you press continue.
@ Okay, great. I want to do a Moneyball save but it's difficult to find a balance in normal processing speed and having no in-game data available.
Can you add these settings into an existing save?
Yes. Adding new nations/leagues takes effect from the next season. Detail level changes can be made anytime.
@@BusttheNet Thanks mate👏
