That was my first option too, imo 3 of the most solid sets so far this year.
Im returning to lego collecting and just for clarification; does reaching the $165 threshold mean you get the droid carrier as a bonus or does it mean you “unlock” the ability to purchase it?

Yeah MrAdamc81 has it right. It’s a “gift with purchase” aka spoken simply as the acronym “GWP”.
Whenever Lego does a GWP, not just Star Wars, once you meet or exceed the threshold dollar amount on whatever theme the GWP is running for, you will receive the GWP item free of any additional charge.
Important to note that GWP specific sets will never be available for direct purchase from LEGO.
Don't let fomo allow you to make bad financial decisions.
Yeah, I feel Lego should allow us to buy the gift with purchase sets after a month of its offer alone on its site. As there are no doubt people who want these sets, but don’t want to spend $200+ just to get the one set they want

If you're in Europe, there's a 170€ discount on the UCS AT-AT during May 4th. Hope you are cus this is looking juicy
if you get that, maybe ring up your lego store nearby to ask if you would get maybe 2, 3 or 4 of the driod carriers, since you spend so much over the treshold
I got one for 599€. That’s still quite the sum, but at 8 cents per piece and 10kg of lego you go with it.
I generally try to purchase sets on my backlog that either:
1. Are selling out soon
2. I feel are worth sale price
So the sets I'll be purchasing to meet the $160 threshold are:
1. Commander Cody Helmet
2. Boarding the Tantive IV
3. Clone vs Battle Droid battle pack
4. Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter
Definitely will be purchasing all of them online, too, and will use some store credit!
10:13 If the UCS Tie is like last years UCS X wing, that will drop in price by 30% at some retailers by this time next year (several retailers I’ve seen have the x wing marked down by 25% some by 30%). So unless you really want the droid GWP you could easily wait to get the Tie!
Retailer discounts seem to be heavily store-to-store based. I keep seeing random steep discounts like described on reddit, only to find out no where near me has it or will honor it.
How have they not done another bad batch set yet ??? They’ve done 2 and one wasn’t needed and overpriced

Would Lego technically make more money if the Trade Federation Troop Carrier was available to purchase individually? Prequel fans like myself would buy like 5 or more for army building
I like Maul with no pupils. Besides, there's a bunch of 'pupilled' Darth Mauls around, just buy one of those if this one bothers you so much ('you' being people complaining about it.).
Also, not buying any of the new sets now, I'd rather wait for a nice discount down the road. I'd rather buy something like a Ghost or the Gunship, or the Cantina.. 🤩 Maybe the brickheads too..
Excited for tonight! I’ll be ordering my sets on online at midnight. Definitely getting all the promos. I’ll probably get the New Republic E-Wing Vs Shin Hati’s Starfighter since that is 4X points. And then I’ll probably get either 2 Trooper and Battle Droid Battle Packs, or Barc Speeder Escape with 1 Battle Pack.
Got that and the Sith Infiltrator to hit the $160.00 (plus the book).

(Note that since most prices on Lego aren’t exact dollar amounts, eg battlepacks for $19.99 and not $20, that you won’t get the troop carrier if you are a few cents short. That’s why on some you have to spend an extra couple bucks)

If you grab the coupon for Ghost you can add a clone trooper battle driod and make it bak up over the 160. The battle pack is basically free

UCS Razor Crest on sale at both Amazon and Best Buy (Best Buy also has a membership discount).
Not saying this to troll but M&Rs video on this topic was way better done, anybody can figure out what combination of sets they want to buy, he actually went in detail about exactly which sets will be on sale and by how much, very helpful
Love the new tie interceptor but i think im leaning more towards droideka and luke skywalker landspeeder combo
Good review and my only critique is to not add battle packs because you can get those cheaper elsewhere. Any resale value of the GWP goes out the window when you’re adding on the $5-7 in cost of the battle packs.

I have taken advantage of the promotion to buy several sets that I have wanted to buy for a long time.
Thinking about getting the throne room diorama set instead of the sith infiltrator, obi-wan’s star fighter, and boarding the tantive IV
I will be ordering, if I am not already late in my country, both throne room diorama and sith infiltrator. It is a bit more over the treshold, but I really like master-pupil relations between those minifigures. And Anakin and Vader.

I have not opened any free sets I've received from Lego in years. They're part of my retirement fund. I bough the R2-D2 V39 @ 299.99 CAD which gave me the Trade Federation Troop Carrier, the AAT V39, the Lego Star Wars Collect Global 1, and I spent the 1500 pts to get the Insiders-LSW Coin.
I went today and ended up getting: Sith Infiltrator, BARC speeder escape, Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter and The Invisible Hand… I was thinking of getting The Ghost instead but I really wanted the Sith Infiltrator and Invisible Hand and I wasn’t going to skint myself getting them all 😂
Turns out the ghost would sell out everywhere within an hour

Far this year and really bad the past 2 months. I do t see massive sales . Most will go
In a spend the minimum just to get the GWP but you won’t see customers going back to get multiple GWPs. Economy is on life support.
I really need the Tie Interceptor. Got my wife the black and blue play set many many years ago. The new one looks amazing.

I got the infiltrator bark speeder and the droidika and that was enough to get all three promos
I went with the Droideka, Podrace, and a 501st battle pack
I only got the diorama to take the pod racers off, to display my set of cac bad batch minifigs, although not sure whether to have them fighting loads of droids or in a stand off with cad bane holding omega hostage 🤔

I haven’t bought Lego since 2018 and I kinda want to get the Venator or the Razor crest but I don’t know which one to get.
Razor Crest, on sale and will likely be discontinued sooner.

trying to buy three sets last night to get the 160+ gwp was actually living hell that took like an hour and a half 💀 christ
I was able to purchase my order on the Lego web site with no problem. I picked up the R2-D2 and Sith Infiltrator.
I’ll get the ghost + either 2 battlepacks or 1 battlepack and 2 bricksheads. Republic gunship + either the phantom menace brickheads or spider tank and the UCS X-wing. I’ll wait on the tie interceptor. Everything above 160€, I’ll cover with insider points (if possible) since we got vouchers in Europe and perhaps double VIP points, since that’s what it says on the website if sets apply.

In Europe the Ghost is getting a discount, so I'm getting that and add a battlepack to reach the 160 euro threshold.
For some reason right after the launch of may the 4, the promo code for the CG Gunship did not work. But this morning it did work and a got 60 euros discount, instead of 30 euro's (geuss something went wrong with the Lego site). I bought three of them with three different accounts :). I saved 180 euro's, I think the force is with me or something.
For lego moc can you do umbara and mount tantiss please I'd love to see those in lego

Is there a way to see what's going to be discounted?
I don't get what the hype around this event is, the prices on the lego store are original price which is already about 25% higher than what you would find in retail, so you're not actually buying it for less even with the quadruple points. The troop carrier and polybag add a bit of value if you're patient enough to wait years to resell a single small set, so at the end of the day you're maybe making a bit of money back making the bottom line slightly better than if you just went to your local store and bought it off the shelf.
I got the yavin base, I love the mini figs with the medals! Website was crazy slow!
