My game of the year is black myth wukong followed by FF7 rebirth. If a third Orion it's astral bot, your right it's an amazing platforming game but Like souls stuff and rpgs more. Great show you guys.
1:20:05 True and fucking real. And in some cases, ENTIRE GENRES have spawned from some guy spending his free time making a mod or a custom mode for his favorite game.
I can attest to Astro Bot's supremacy. It's a damn fine game. It's definitely weird that people who haven't played the game think it's not all that. At least play it before making up your mind.
Matt’s idea of switching it to Best Shooter is the right call. I haven’t played Astro Bot yet because it’s 1 of those games where I think I’ll only play it once so I’m waiting on a big sale. Plus, I’m not a fan of the DualSense haptics.
I can tell from day one Astrobot would be a game I'll love and will definitely buy. But since we all have backlogs, there's no reason to buy a game day one. Everything can wait and it will be half off by the time you're actually ready to play it. There should be more stats on $60 purchases vs $20-$30 purchases and see that is the sweet spot for people that game regularly. The zeitgeist conversations are the only reason to play something day one and that ended years ago.
Amazing video bois! Please interview Matt one day. We as a community know nothing about this man other than what he decides to slip into a convo (vaguely) during an episode of gameface.
I'll never understand why Shane even bothered upgrading his PC when he plays all multiplatform games on the PS5. He also contradicts himself on why he got a PS5 Pro saying it's because he wants the best version.
The best plug-and-play version that just freaking works. No hassles. No BS. I upgraded my PC because I use it 14 hours a day to create the content you just watched and to play PC exclusives that basically no longer exist. I’ve been building gaming PCs since 1996. I’m not some idiot trying to rain all over your PC master race parade. You do you, but my points are valid.
5:08 I disagree with the notion that FPS games are a dying genre. Looking from a PC perspective- there's an ongoing renascence of various FPP action genre, including numerous flavours of retro/throwback/lo-fi/boomer etc. shooters. Similarly, even immersive FPS games come in many more shapes and sizes than they used to. Of course, almost none of them are titles with massive budgets, and due to the smaller size of the dev team (and self-publishing) most of them are conceived through Early Access program so they don't have an impact on broader consciousness similar to DOOM or METRO, that can afford more substantial marketing push around the release, but the choice is there. In fact, it's refreshing to play TPP games. Due to massive Ubisoft suckage (is that a word?), I overlooked many potential candidates I'd play otherwise 10+ years ago. As for preference in the broader market- it's sad in some way, but mostly it's annoying on the developer/publisher side, the notion of abandoning FPP because of trend chasing and imitation of titles that do well financially. As a result, more of them are made in the same format, marketed to people and ultimately played, streamed, talked about. But that doesn't mean people don't like FPP suddenly, it's a ridiculous notion. 200 factors come into play as to why the game doesn't do as well as the publisher hopes.
If Astrobots haven't sell that means people don't want it. So keep doing right thing by informing people because that's your job,not pushing people to buy game of your choice. People are not stupid for Christ sake , they can decide what they wanna play
Being an artist who worked on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle it's nice to hear such a high praise for the visuals.
Absolutely incredible game man absolutely loved it

Loved astro boy so much but it's 100 percent a mario galaxy clone.

Not a fighting game person myself but by all accounts, Tekken 8 is a great game. Has a 90 on metacritic as well.
Let's go! 🙌
