Lost edge , little circles ect ect , your videos are answering so many of my questions , do you have a video on what paper to use for different type of drawing Again amazing work and even better teacher. Wish you were around 20 years ago
@@careyalvezartschool thank you so much , I’ve been watching 100 of videos about drawing but none come close to yours, you cover everything and it was the first time seeing your class today and I’ve learn more in those portrait video than I did in 10 years You were born to teach , thank you so much, finally a video that answer why pencil are sharpen that way, technic ect Thanks
Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it. The photo is vintage, turn of the century or so. I chose to work from a vintage photo because so many of my students come to class with images of parents and grandparents, very common and charcoal is an excellent medium for that look.
@@careyalvezartschool It's clear that artistic work is a real vocation for you and I really admire how naturally gifted and talented you are. Wishing you luck in your journey!

This is beautifully done. It reminds me a bit of the English Pre-Raphaelite painters.

I think a list of equipment we need to buy to try this out would be very helpful
a kitchen skewer or knitting needle, you want a point on the end.
? How about this list: paper and charcoal pencil….. 🤷♀️ 🤦♀️

Thank you.
I’ve tried charcoal but it seems to not adhere to the paper and when I try to blend with a brush, most of it wipes straight off!
you need to use the proper paper. I like Stonehenge by Legion.
You can also use Fabriano or Strathmore drawing papers, or Canson Mi Tientes
