If you read some actual employee's thought on this: She is correct. She isn't a Karen, and for goodness sakes stop calling a woman a "Karen" if she complains about something!!
I lived in Las Vegas, and the strip has plenty of Hotels. I can tell when a parent complains about the times they had to wait that means they spent HOURS in line. I've been there, some of the hotels downtown are Horrendous at Check-In.
She brings up good points about the cleanliness: What parent wants to go to the ER for Chlorine Poisoning or Pink Eye or other various infections!! Read some comments from supposed employees where they had seen kids get Chlorine Poisoning, and threw up. Highly doubt they are able to separate the bile from the water *before* it gets cycled back into the Water Fountains to spray kids.
Then there is the delinquent little goblins. Just because it's a Kids Resort does *Not* mean they can be left unattended, running around people, or screaming and being noisy. You can clearly hear the children on the other side of the wall in that clip she showed in the hotel room she was given. Cheaply made walls at a kids resort? Great idea 👍
Hope I brought you some insight as to her complaints.

    • @glittergamer765
      @glittergamer765 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@monkey11443 I'll make a simplified version then:
Employees have stated the conditions are terrible there. If the Sanitary and Safety conditions are terrible, and children are supposed to be playing there, the parents are stuck with sick kids from the Neglectful Establishment.
I lived in Las Vegas where there are Hotels, and when a Parent says they waited a long time for their hotel, that means Hours of waiting, and I'm talking 2-4 hours+ of waiting.
Hotel hallways are meant to be quiet, but the walls are thin and cheap, plus the Resort encourages children to run and be loud in the halls, making it difficult for any parent to get themselves and their kids to sleep. Being on Vacation is not an excuse to let your kids do whatever they want. It also doesn't mean you can't be courteous of the other families also trying to enjoy their time there.
All in all, the "Karen" is actually right, it's her tone of voice and music that makes it seem like she's complaining like a Karen. She isn't wrong with the points she brings up, and is trying to warn people of when they decide to go to Great Wolf Lodge.

FYI if a pool is smelling alot of chlorine it is a strong indicator that alot of people a peeing in the water. When urine and chlorine mix they form a new substance(i cant remember the name right now) and that gives off that distinct "fresh chlorine" smell. So you'd think that the more smell the cleaner but its actually the opposite.
There have been tests made and it absolute is true, just search here on YT and there are videos on it.

This is for families, you can’t just expect every single place like Disney is not going to have children . and besides some children do behave like my family and we have a family of nine! Also EVERY pool smells like chlorine, would you rather have the pool treated or just have the pool full of pee and poop and dead skin? THIS IS FOR FAMILIES! Ok so let me tell you my experience with GFL.. back when it was Key Lime Cove, maybe mid 2010s, my family and I decided to go for a mini vacation. I was maybe between 14-16, I’ve had a lot of medical issues since I was 9 (briefly: I had a car accident, was left paralyzed with some of medical issues and lots of surgeries and delicate health the first 10ish years after the accident) and I couldn’t travel for long, I’m from Chicago so my family and I went up to Waukegan where Key Lime Cove is (was, now it’s Great Wolf Lodge). If I remember correctly we stayed a weekend or so, just a few days. Yes, check-in was LONG, but the adults handled that. Just a bar and arcade/mall food restaurants, if you wanted something good and not super overpriced you should of packed your own lunch and dinner. My brother and I went off with one of my aunts to look around. Everything visibly approachable was “clean” (wiped down) but if you looked just a bit closer, you’ll find dirt and dust everywhere.. meaning, benches and chairs were clean on the front were you sit but if you grabbed the chair from the back, your hand was covered in dirt or grease or something dirty. Tables clean from the top but had smeared food on the edges that was visibly old.
Before you reached the area where the indoor water is, honestly halfway down the hallway, you get hit with a whiff of hot chlorine water. Yes, it’s an indoor water park BUT the lack of ventilation was the problem here, it gave people headaches, and I know this by the amount of people we saw going up to the counter asking the receptionist people for pain killers - which were directed to the gift shop for them. Imagine taking a hot steaming shower, pouring chlorine on the floor and sitting in the bathroom with the door and window locked, just breathing in the fumes. So much chlorine that you could see it in the water. Looking at this video alone I can already remember the smell. I understand it’s a kids park, but safety is still safety.
Now, the rooms, the wheelchair accessible rooms were a bit small and only the bathroom was accessible meaning the door was wide and it had a roll-in shower, rooms did not have enough space to move around and the beds were high (we asked, they said they did not have low beds or bigger rooms). I was with my family, the could help me get in bed, but if you didn’t have someone to help you out your chair, you weren’t sleeping that night.. the bathroom had no ventilation, neither did the room. It was hot and we could still smell the chlorine. The beds were ok clean, the room too….where the eye could see. The window panes could have possibly been creating new deseases.. as I was getting ready for bed, I used the headboard to lift myself up and when I ran my finger over the top edge, so much dust came falling down on my face that I thought it was a spider, it was disgusting and proved that the staff only cleans were you can see and where you can’t, it’s best not to look.. we didn’t think it would be this bad, we had some expectations (knowing it is a busy resort and staff can only do so much) so my mom was mom-prepared: she wiped down everything around me, we had our own towels and blankets - again, I’m not trying to make us sound entitled or picky or anything, I was sick and was preparing for huge major surgery and my family wanted us to take a trip before I went under the knife but we couldn’t go anywhere also due to my health so we settled for something kinda close, kinda affordable and just hoping it would take my mind off my upcoming surgery. We should have done better research..
My situation was that I caught an infection from this place. A bad one. After the first night, with everyone getting a headache from the chlorine and my the room situation, my mom decided to cut the trip short and we left a day early. By Saturday night we were packing, we stayed only ONE night..
a couple of days later, I started showing symptoms of an infection, I was shivering so much from the fever that you couldn’t understand what I was saying, I had blue lips and fingernails, vomiting, extreme headaches, really really bad all within a day maybe - again, my immune system reacts differently, I’ve had infections without fevers and fainting spells from headaches, just poor health. My parents rushed me to the hospital, I got admitted and was given antibiotics and steroids along with morphine for my headache (I have a history of chronic migraines so whenever I’m hospitalized and I get a headache I get the big drugs). I was worsening by the hour. Monday night/Tuesday morning, I was admitted into pediatric intensive care, hallucinating from the pain and the fever, the infection was reaching my bloodstream and doctors were afraid I was going to get a seizure. (I’m not medical student and I don’t remember details of that night as I was off in lalaland but all of this is from what I remember from my chart, doctor follow up conversations and treatments I remember) They brought in some kind of ultrasound machine to look for a specific vein in my wrist and in my groin area to put an IV for some special medicine to help with my condition. This happened all through the night, I was vomiting, crying, hallucinating, high fever, literally almost dying.. after all tests and everything came back, it turned out I had a severe sinus infection from the dust and I guess inhaling chemical particles or something like that. Doctors asked what we had done recently, if I had left the country or taken a trip or had been around high-chemical areas, we told them about our trip and 1 Peds nurse mentioned being familiar with the place as she had another patient not so long before (it was the end of summer) also come in with an infection after going to KLC and apparently many kids end up sick after visiting places like that: I’m sure it all depends on the place, your health, and many other things but for ME, it put my life at risk. Mind you, I never even set foot in the indoor pool, I couldn’t stand the smell near the area alone, my brother did and he came back up to the room smelling like chlorine, he showered right after but I guess the room having no ventilation was enough for the particles to remain. I did go to the arcade room which was kinda near the pool area (you could smell it) but I was there for maybe half an hour before going back to my room. Docs think that’s how I caught it plus the lack of cleaning in the room itself. I have sinus issues now, I can’t smell strong odors without almost passing out, I take antibiotics for life and I have 2 nasty scars from the IVs (I don’t heal well).. my mom still has the text messages on her phone from that night, she messaged my dad back home to pray as things were not looking good.
Everyone has a different experience and some people just run with better luck than others. I however, understand this video 1000% and would never go back no matter what.
Yes my family and I could have done better research, we could have done something different or gone somewhere else, but we didn’t, you don’t think things could get this bad (and we thought we were prepared by bringing in our own stuff) when you’re trying to do something to literally distract yourself from a scary situation already. We wanted to have a nice family time before my surgery and this is the experience we got.

As someone who went to a Great Wolf Lodge, It was an amazing experience and no construction was happening. Kids weren’t yelling and the check in line wasn’t that long. The Donut line was long but went by quite fast. Saying all this, I just wanna include that not everyone has the same experience in everything! I am also sorry to anyone whom has had a bad experience.

I had a great time with my kids. When we went they were having dancing and bubbles for the kids. No construction no waiting for check in and didn’t pay close to that price per night

My kids absolutely love GWL. But the check in lines are superblong during peak times, lackluster in house dining and kids running around are all present.
