    I really love this. The tutorial is very easy to follow and the sweater is very pretty! And I learned a new stitch - the stacked double crochet. Thanks so much! 💜

    🤩 So excited to do this one... Looking these past few days for summer tops and tunics, and I saw a few, but when I saw your reel today, I said YAY!!! 😊 I have this beautiful navy blue and this gorgeous rust colored salmon. And I know it is going to look amazing. I will send you pictures if you don't mind ❤

    How would u make the sleeves longer

  • @vzeimen
    @vzeimen ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've been practicing these stitches and making my gauge swatch. I want to make the sleeves longer, like elbow length or 3/4 length. What do you advise in order to do this?

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  ปีที่แล้ว

      This sounds a great idea! You just need to adjust the foundation chain for your sleeves as described in the pattern to change the length of your sleeves. You can find all the info here: www.hanjancrochet.com/v-neck-crochet-top-pattern/

    I love the pattern and top-down style of this top. This would truly look lovely as a dress. I want to make longer sleeves, I'll just make a longer beginning chain, (that longer part will be the sleeve) and work the cuff the same. All I have to do after finishing the yoke and sleeves, connect the rounds further away from the cuffs,( instead of connecting by skipping the cuffs I will connect by skipping the added sleeve stitches too.) I do think that might work, what do you think?

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That would absolutely work beautifully! One of my testers made it into a dress with a really similar method. Can't wait to see yours!

    • @vzeimen
      @vzeimen ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Were you able to figure out longer sleeves for this top/dress? I'm ready to start but not sure if I should make it as is and then add a sleeve later or make the yoke wider to begin with for the sleeves. Very curious on my best course of action.

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the best way would be to extend the sleeve before you start as they are worked in rectangular panels. If you have the pattern pdf there are some notes on it in there 😊

    Please......tell me are we splitting the bust measurements in half?
    I'm lost. If I measure a 43" finished bust line do I make 2 (two) Full Chains ( left n right )of that 43" bust measurements
    I really don't want to give up b4 I start

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We make two panels for the sleeves and top that will join to become the neckline. They need to be 1/4 of your bust measurements due to how they are joined. The pattern is fully graded and available to view on the blog so I’d suggest having a look there and following the size that will fit you best 😊

    Is the sleeve length 1/2 the front of the body? I need to know because I will use a different yarn and hook

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Leah,
      It's just over half as the little cap sleeve is worked in it :)

  • @mintpixie8814
    @mintpixie8814 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Lovely top. Can you do longer sleeves?

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! You could just extend the sleeves to be as long as you like but perhaps use single crochet or even slip stitches for the cuffs depending on how tight you want them 😊

  • @mariah540
    @mariah540 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. Lovely pattern. I would like to make a fall/winter version of this, so with long sleeves. How would I customize this to allow for crocheting the sleeves individually once the body is done? I would of course not make the cuff ribbing where it is currently placed, that would go at the end of the sleeves. How do you suggest I amend this pattern so as to add sleeves? I will also use a merino wool yarn in that case. Thanks.

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds great! You could work the sleeves in flat rows or rounds once you've added the body or you could add them at the beginning by extending the length of your sleeves to start with. Either would work great :)

  • @gailmckenzie9174
    @gailmckenzie9174 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm watching this first before I start, the stitching is a little different than what I'm used to but I'm definitely going to try it, it's so feminine and pretty, can't wait to wear it. I'm an xl so how many chains would I start with?

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wonderful! I'm so happy you're going to make it! You can find the pattern with details of start chains and numbers of rows for each size on my blog post: www.hanjancrochet.com/v-neck-crochet-top-pattern/

    Im making sleeve 2, should row 1 start with a chain 1 then go into the blo for the cuff as sleeve 1 has a ch 1 before the cuff.

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because it's worked as a mirror image, the ch1 isn't necessary. Hope that helps

    What if I don’t want a cuff. I have large arms and prefer a 3/4 sleeve. What can I do to remove that cuff so that I can add my sleeve. I love everything about this pattern except the cuff.

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Darlene, you can absolutely do that! The cuff is worked into the sleeve so you can just leave those stitches off and extend your sleeve length before you start to make it 3/4. It will look great! 😊

  • @elaine209tiger
    @elaine209tiger 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Please could you tell me how I do the stitches in the chain spaces - I’m not sure how many stitches to do in each space? It’s a beautiful top! Thank you x

    • @hanjancrochet3553
      @hanjancrochet3553  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you like it! You can either work the stitches directly into the chain spaces (as most people do traditionally) or as I do them in the video just working through the top two loops and passing the hook 'through' the stitch leaving a loop underneath. Either way will work really well, just whatever you prefer :)

      There are lots of different ways to customise this top which are given in the blogpost. Making it shorter is simple and making it tighter would just involve choosing a bust size that is tight on you. Have a read through the blogpost and you will see how easy it is to customise: www.hanjancrochet.com/v-neck-crochet-top-pattern/
