I just love this documentary. IMO it’s the best one out there. I’m so happy you have been doing this. I never get tired of watching or hearing Queen, even after all these years!! You’re the best!!

That's powerful imagery, your take on FM's performance style of playing as though you are alone in your bedroom. Everyone can grasp that. It would be fun if Queen could re-release 10 songs they wish could join the "always played" Queen tunes.

Great idea! I nominate Keep Yourself Alive, Stone Cold Crazy, Now I'm Here, Flick of the Wrist, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, Spread Your Wings, Death on Two Legs, It's Late, Long Away, and Cool Cat.

Watching this video being so young, watching Queen in the stage, Freddie was so special his performings were unique enjoying the best he could do music giving himself to his public, many artists don't do that thing they only perform and they just leave when the concert ends and Freddie was very charismatic connecting with the public that's why Queen fill the arenas, talented musicians and the presence of Freddie were the perfect mix. Interesting documentary, the extras are the best part👏🏻👏🏻👍👍🎸🎤☕

Now I'm Here. It is a title I often forget as well but I never forget the song. This is a May composition and an excellent song to open a show.

We hear Queen here in America all the time . They were on 3 different tv commercials, all running at the same time. And their music is always playing in the market and on the radio .

Interesting point you made about the change of name. Freddie Bulsara was a different guy from the flamboyant Freddie Mercury.

So much fun watching this again ! Thank you Rory! I remember watching when you saw them perform Stone Cold Crazy for the first time. You were absolutely floored!😆 And then next you saw Dragon Attack and were so engrossed that you never paused or said a word until it was over! 😂 That was when I subscribed. 😍

Now I'm Here... That's the song you can't remember the name of. I've been with you through your Queen journey. When you asked about a dirty, grungy (or how ever you put it), their catalogue is littered with them. You have come a long way since then, it's been fun to watch you go from tolerating them to championing them. They ARE so much more than those few radio hits!

Freddie is "dancing like no one is watching". He was the most charismatic performer. The song at the end is Now I'm Here from Sheer Heart Attack. It was never dropped from the live playlist. One of Brian's best songs imo. Thank you for reacting to this documentary. It's by far my favourite!

Yes, I referred Stone Cold Crazy to you, although I'm sure I wasn't the only one, and I remember you face lighting up! Great reaction, Rory! Thanks!

Hey Rory Loved Part 7 ! Thought your comments were great esp the part about being a rock star in your bedroom when you’re a kid YES think we all did that 😂 You’re right about changing your name and then you’re free to be a new person like Bob Dylan .
The only other Rock star who affected me like Freddie did on stage was Jim Morrison of the Doors. I’m glad Queen stuck to their guns with Bohemian Rhapsody bc it was the Most Streamed Song of the 20?th Century ! What do critics know !!!

In the USA the classic rock stations, commercials, movies, tv shows all play the big Queen hits. Only the public broadcasters play whole albums or concert shows occasionally. It’s a shame because there are so many, many gems on the Queen albums. Btw Queen has a national celebration day for them. They are loved all over the world like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, lots of great UK music. Wanna hear their influences check out really old blues and jazz like Howling Wolf, Mamie Smith, Etta James, Robert Johnson, BB King, Ma Rainey…

People will disagree with me, but the actual founding members of Queen were Brian and Rodger

Some of those who knew Freddie said he had a child like nature, he had that imagination and sweetness about him.

Talking about queen being big in japan , you should react to 'big in japan ' by alphaville. Was a cool song in the 80's

  • @bettybaby63

lol. When John said that in Japan they threw toys on the stage it reminded me of a funny bit from peter hince’s (Freddie & John’s roadie) book.
They really were just boys. he recounts that each night the road crew would gather up all the stuffed toys, & then proceed to challenge each other in all the creative ways one could blow up said stuff toys.
